a few hours AUD cram

I am on my way back home (@JFK now) from Italy where I couldn’t open the book (had a double-whammy family ermergency).

I have my AUD exam tomorrow. Finishing A4 now and will probably go through A5 on the plane now.

I know it’s desperate, but I’m still giving it a shot tomorrow, I have nothing to lose (postponing was almost as expensive as paying another fee to NASBA).

Any idea for a few hour-cram?

    Thanks!

Know the various types of audit reports and what types of assurance they may or may not give. Understand internal controls a ton. You're using becker right? A3/4 are really important so skim through those again after you get through A5.

    Thanks.

Yeah, A3 and A4 are probably half of your score. I'll try to redo some MCQs.

No way I can memorize the audit reports, but I do know what kind of assurance they give and most of the key words to put in it, in case it's part of the written communication.

Also, I think the AICPA literature includes some report, word for word. Hopefully it'll be available….

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

Ya, I don't think you need to know the EXACT audit reports but understand which paragraphs are included/modified and what disclosures are given regarding assurance (or lack thereof) in the report.

    @italianCPA

My gosh, I'm in the same situation. Only no emergency involved, it's all my own fault. My exam is in 4 days and I'm finishing up A-3 now. I haven't done any supplemental questions nor have I even looked at any simulations. I will obviously be working on A-4 & A-5 for the next 2 days. Since you took the exam already, what do you suggest I do during the 2 days I will have left for review? Thanks!

Anyone else have the same experience?

Just read this post now so it's probably too late to give advice to italiancpa, however to bigshot cpa, with a limited amount of time left to study the best advice I received was to go over the MCQs. Here it will show you the right answer along with the wrong answers. I took the exam two weeks ago and truly didnt give myself enough time either – got caught up in a last minute project at work that definitely cut into my study time. Dont get hung up on doing the simulations, definitely take a peek at them maybe day before or day of. I always study all the way through right up until two hours before my exam. The exam was a brutal exam but you have to stay mentally prepared the whole way through. Remember to give the written communication your best shot – you can soak up some points there. Also, while you are going over your MCQs now, get into a rhythm of first understanding the call of the question – know what they are asking you for, then if you arent sure take your time narrowing it down by the ones you know arent the answer. Give each question a fair fight. Dont get wound up the day of because you didnt give yourself enough time to study for this exam. Who knows, maybe all the questions they put on there will be everything you studied (best case scenario but at this point you need the positive attitude too). You can do it and good luck!

Thanks Bryn333, I will follow your advice. Hope you passed! I have low expectations but I hope for a tiny chance of passing!
