74 on FAR, expired BEC retake in a week, need advice

    Hi there,

    Here is my issue:

    I took FAR on 12/9 and just found out last week that I got the dreaded 74.

    My BEC is scheduled for 1/2 (it expired from 2011, I got an 80 on it). I’ve been studying and will be ready to go by Wednesday.

    To retake FAR, I was tentatively thinking 1/22 for FAR. I plan on taking off the Friday before, and taking advantage of MLK day to spend my final day studying.

    I work a 9-5, M-F job.

    Any FAR suggestions? Please, any advice is welcome. I know how to study for it (I’ve got the Ninja notes combined w/Becker stuff), but I’m more confused/concerned about timing. Is 3 weeks enough to review, even after switching back from BEC? Or do you think I need to start over again?

    FAR is fresh in your mind, I think you will be okay with 3 weeks provided you put the time in. It will not come through osmosis and you will not get ‘lucky' the second time around.

    My advice, go spend $40 on Wiley at Barnes and Nobel and work those questions at least twice, all 1,500 of them. You'll pass this time. But it will be a heculean effort.

    If you want to stick with Becker, I would work every question that you have (skip nothing) and focus on the SIMS that you had last time as you might get lucky and see them again.

    Thanks, I'm going to take your advice and stick to my schedule. I did go ahead and buy the Wiley Test Bank for FAR, so let's see how that goes.
