I am taking FAR on Nov 30th and I am stuck on what I should be spending my time on. I have completed all MCQ’s and the to final reviews which I received a 72 & 73. I have been going over my weak areas all last week and doing progress test as time permits, about 2-3 30 question test per day. I am getting to the point where I am sick of looking at this stuff and ready to take the test. Any tips on what I should cover during this week leading up to Saturday? This is my first test and I am nervous but I think I am ready. Hope I am right.

    Thanks for the responses.

    Derrick

    I am using Becker self-study.

Everyone told me to not worry about the foreign currency reporting items… such as local currency and reporting currency and functional currency. I had 8 questions about it on my exam. I'm sure a couple were pre-test but since i didnt study them i know i got most of them wrong.

I had a lot about pensions, mainly net pension expense calculations.

Not a lot about governmental except the basic budget journal entries.

My tasks were a lot about IFRS, such as showing a list of transactions and i had to fill in their classifications based on GAAP and IFRS.

Took it a few weeks ago and got an 82.

I am hoping the foreign currency transaction some how don't show up on my test, but I know they will just because I am hoping they don't. I study and study them and still get mixed up when I see a question. I am also weak on cash flow statements, I can piece the info together to get the right answer but it takes me more time then I like spending on a single question.

I spent last weekend, about 15 hours learning government and NFP, NFP turned out to be fairly simple once I sat down and tried to understand it. Government on the other hand was a pain!!

Also, I am hoping that all holds true with the theory becker final review scores are lower then the real thing.

Payfields, I'm not sure I would get that specific with your disclosures about the exam

    REG 8/12 - passed 79
    BEC 7/13 - passed 84
    AUD 8/13 - passed 83
    FAR 11/13 - Passed 83

Now off to a new county...

@Derrick05, I had trouble remembering foreign currency transactions/translations as well. I wrote a mnemonic to help me remember and here is a link to it. I hope it helps you!

I was also weak on cash flow statements, but it helped me just to go over the Sims in Ch 7 in Becker to get an overall grasp and understanding. Good luck!

Just got back from taking the test and I feel like I failed!! The MCQ's where not difficult. The first and last testlet where borderline easy and the second was the hardest off the 3 but not super hard. There where 3 question I completely guessed on in this testlet and the others I could work out after looking at it for awhile. I finished the questions with 2 hours remaining. I was feeling confident until I looked over the sims! I got the research question and felt good about 2 other questions. The remaining 4 were very confusing and unlike any problem I had seen in my review. They were asking me to complete a task I had no clue about on 2 of them. The last 2 I was 50/50 on. I think I probably failed because of these sims, I have no idea what I could have done different in my studies to have completed the sims either. Well it's going to be a long wait for the scores.
