So I’ve taken my FAR score from a 56 to a 60 and then to a 66 over the course of three trials. I signed up for another round on July 30th.

I feel like I’m close to passing as I’ve spent a lot of time working on my weakest areas and I feel confident overall on the material. I know I still need to work on SIMs and get a much better grasp on journal entries across all chapters but I’m still missing a lot of questions on random, small stuff scattered throughout the material, the kind of small stuff that you’re not really going to know unless you memorize it.

Any tips on how to get this material down? I have a feeling the answer is going to be more MCQs, but I’m running into the issue of seeing questions I’m already familiar with across both Roger and Ninja 🙁

I dont know about the new format but if I remember correctly Govt. and non profit are heavily tested. So focus on those topics. Also don't hesitate to practice sims, it is good idea to check if you are good at applying the concept you learned.

You are lacking knowledge on the concepts. Systematically go through the Roger material and challenge yourself. Get stronger with the material and you will pass.

It took me four times to pass FAR. The way I was able to finally pass, was when I decided I was going to just power through all Becker and Ninja MCQS. On my final study, I didn't read any books or watched any lectures, I just pounded MCQS. I didn't quite finish, but I was able to get through about 90% of them. I tried not to repeat too many questions, and I didn't take it too hard when I didn't get a question right. I don't know if what I did will work for you, but it wouldn't hurt to reset your MCQs and give yourself a month of nonstop MCQs.

Turo, I think this is perhaps what I need to do. I reset all my MCQs in Roger and Ninja and have hundreds of flashcard questions in Quizlet that I can go through. Same goes for SIMs.

Sorry to hear about your past FAR experiences, I know how it feels I've been in your shoes myself. The key with FAR I feel like is its more about being able to apply the material rather than just knowing it and to make sure you have no weak areas. In order to do this, you must list your weak areas (whether its leases, bonds, or consolidation) and transforms your mcq scores by 20% higher. Consolidation and government are the most heavily tested topics in my opinion. The first time I took FAR I failed because I didn't know how to apply the material I knew, but then I sat down and literally dissected the textbook and hammered mcqs non stop and I jumped 13 points on my second attempt. Not to mention I'm a slow learner (I have a learning disability), which goes to show anyone can pass this thing if they have the heart. Good luck!
