hey guys how important is it to know the consolidation worksheets for the exam? There are a lot of cpaexcel msqs based around them and I find them a little confusing. I get the gist of the entries but I don't know if I should be mastering the worksheets also

    FAR - 78*
    AUD - 66, 79
    REG - 73, 76
    BEC - 79

    Hi guys, prospective CPAs

I had given far today …it sucked my life out.. mcqs were pretty good compared to sims. Honestly I tell you ..lot of practice on mcqs and Sims and mock test has to be done. I couldn't manage my time for sims. I had lot of questions on NFP, equity/ FV method , government, cash flow. I don't think I will get through 75 . Will focus on reg now and then far again ..I want to clear desperately ..has to come up with different strategy to clear the exam next time. I feel it's inevitable to clear asap as complexity is increasing ..though it's subjective view. Practice practice is new mantra!

    Thank you for sharing @Apii
Please I just want to know if the authoritive litterature can’t help someone to answer a mcq. Did you have many calculations to do on Mcq?

Hey it is important to know everything……. Consolidation, Cash flow, research, Govt, NFP, ARO, inventory, Interim, Subsequent events, PP&E, DTL, DTA, I would can list all topics. 😀 The point you think this topic is not important, that's the point AICPA decides to give you a sim on it.

My experience was good except that I did not feel any difference between Testlet 1 and testlet 2 (not a good sign), 3 to 4 lines questions and doable. I marked 8 in total, I did MCQS within time limit. There are documents to read through and pick from drop down menu, so be familiar with reading a lot of documents and highlight what you need to answer.
Make sure you guys also practice research sims, and read carefully what specifics it is asking about, becoz I spent 20 min and when got back home and checked back again it got wrong just by last figure should be 4 I picked 3. So close………. Also, I did some silly mistakes on last testlet, Last question, so dumb of me I assumed something and changed all the right answers 🙁 .

After AUD exam I have to get back to FAR Practice again. If the result would be unfavorable, I would be ready to attack once again.

My Suggestion : Do lot of sims practice, MCQs and read the information carefully, No assumptions.

Exam Software : Very comfortable, just the text size was very small for me (I think I need to check my eyes 😉 ).

@Sona , nice to see your update.
Do you feel you did better than Q1 ? How were SIMs ? Similar to Q1 or more difficult? Hope you too got just one application SIM.
Going through Gleim MCQ , any tips please.

Well I gave FAR in JUNE-2016, So cannot compare with Q1-2018. I would say everything was doable, just need to make sure not leaving anything in the corner. Like I said the moment you think this is not important, that's the moment AICPA makes a sim on the topic ;).

I saw members who have Gleim they are better in doing sims section on the exam. So I would say keep on doing it. For MCQs, NINJA MCQs, I felt better every time I gave the exam.

    BTW when is your exam?

All the best to the members for the upcoming exams. 🙂

Thank you @Sona for advice.when you didn’t post you experience just after exam I was concerned and just thinking after so much practice if she missed something?
It seems you did 6 SIMs correct , that is good enough to pass.
I have a question,Analysis is expected SIMs and one SIM is from application then what is unexpected topic ?
Did you get more than one topic from from application?
How long you took to finish MCQ.
I am retaking on 16th April.

    Thanks for the wishes.

I could finish my MCQs in 45-45min both. Then 35 min for 3rd testlet and 4th and 5th within time. So this was the first time I have left with time like 10 min or so.

I did not refer much blueprints for FAR so can't differentiate between Application and Analysis. I thought better to do all sims available from ROGER and NINJA than referring back and forth with blueprints.

I would again suggest do as much sims and MCQs as possible. Because sims are overwhelming we usually go for doing MCQs, but if candidate want no surprise on the exam day do many sims and read documents. The longer the sims you practice at home, the easier it would be at the exam day to figure out. Also read the instructions for the sims carefully, don't just jump right into the documents and try to answer the question. Somewhere they say enter positive for if credit and negative figure for if debit vise versa.

I am back to AUD studying 🙂

Starting FAR this week with anticipation of taking it in June. Waiting for my REG score so if I can get them both in this window my life would be complete. Let's get it!

Took FAR today… thought it was terrible. First MCQ I fiddled around and doubted myself left and right.. took too much time, started getting in the groove on the second testlet… ran out of time on sims and probably left 2 almost blank. Haphazard selection and filled in whatever rows I could from drop downs.

    Yikes.

On to BEC (6/2/18), and then score release 6/27. Cheers.

I feel so doomed. I want to study, but I feel like I do not care. My test is on Thursday, and I didn't do well on anything in the mock exam so I can't pinpoint exactly what I need to do so I feel like I need to review everything and there is not enough time.

    Any motivation will help.

    Thanks.
