    Took FAR (first exam) Monday. I think it went well and left with time on the clock also. Used Becker and I would suggest hitting MCQs before exam day and do a couple of Mock exams (or AICPA tutorial) to get used to the system before hand. It was less stressful in the actual exam because it was just like sitting in my kitchen doing a Becker mock exam on my own computer. Good luck to anyone taking FAR. Now on to Audit. Waiting until June is going to be so frustrating. lol

    @gplopooka

    I took FAR Monday too. Now I'm preparing to take AUD on May 8. I originally thought that I could take my mind off not knowing my results for FAR until June by studying for AUD but I'll have these sudden instances where I think I failed. Thirty minutes later, I'll have another instance thinking that I may have passed. I do know that I couldn't complete one SIM because of time constraints. I read that thing like 5 times and couldn't figure it out and still had 4 other SIMs to do. I'm just hoping that was a pretest question.

    Feeling good to read that all you could finish ahead of time.practicing Analysis SIMs and trying one or two application which I won’t be able to do if it drops in test e.g Govt wide FS , my nightmares.
    So far going good. Last time got 74 , hope to cross 75 this time.
    Somehow I feel they will give Bond SIMs so practiced that too.
    Folks , let me know any SIMs which you feel are WT heck type , don’t want to take any risk .
    I am assuming they can ask anything which under FAR planet.

    Only Analysis will be SIMs don't waste your time doing SIMs that aren't. They state that clearly in their webinars. Just do MCQ for the other sections. Practicing SIMS is a really inefficient use of time and a poor way to absorb material. MCQ is much better. Should only focus on being comfortable with SIMs that fall into Analysis.

    Just make sure you dig through and find sims that correlate to the analysis topics and be sure you can do those.

    Sure AF , how did you practice SIMs , Gliem and sample test ?

    Yeah that's it. I thought Sample test gave me a good idea of what to expect. Then just did SIMS from Chapters that aligned with the Blueprint Analysis. If I got SIMs in the set that didn't match any Analysis section I would skip it.

    Not to throw a wrench into @AF's plan but application skills can be SIMs too but most likely will be MCQ. This is according to the AICPA. Looking at the Blueprints is a must though.

    I got 1 SIM that wasn't Analysis. I'm willing to bet that one was pretest. In the Webinars, they clearly state that Analysis (and Eval) is SIM material. I spent 0 minutes practicing any SIMs that weren't Analysis.

    yeah, I'm sure the chances of an application skill being a SIM is slim but I attended the AICPA webinars too. They clearly stated that application skills will mostly be MCQs but can be SIM. Also, remember that everyone doesn't get the same test. You could have just gotten one that didn't have a SIM to test application skills.

    The blueprint makes it pretty clear what you'll be asked to do. There are definitely application skills asked on the SIMs, naturally. For Example:

    Statement of comprehensive income
    A) detect, investigate and correct discrepancies while agreeing the statement of comprehensive amounts to supporting documentation

    This tells you EXACTLY what you need to be able to do. All of the analysis are written in similar fashion. In order to be able to do that, you would have had to apply lower order skills.

    @AF ,how large or max number of documents were there on SIMs? Last time it was manageable, in fact of of the sIM I was surprised that it had no documents.
