    Hi All,

I am planning to buy Wiley CPA excel, I get like 50% discount, is it worth to buy or anyone has better options to suggest.
I am yet to begin studying for the exam.
    Thanks for your inputs.

    Hi all,

FAR on 4/3, AUD on 4/13.

Target to do FAR 80-100 MCQs + 10 SIMS everyday. Final 3 days at least 2 practice test per day.
Target for AUD 50 plus MCQs + 10 SIMS everyday.

Using Roger and NINJA MCQs + SIMS exclusively.

Anyone testing next week. What's the plan to kill the exam? 😉

    Expiration question
if REG expires on 4/20…. can I take (and hopefully pass) FAR on 4/20 as well or do I have to pass FAR before 4/20? Of course, I was hoping to take it 4/19 but I'm not seeing it available at my center. I can expand but I'll take on 4/20 if I'm allowed.

@Pam It is on or before the expiry of the score. I confirmed with my state board. Mine REG expiring on 4/14 so I have scheduled on 4/13 becoz of non availability of the date at prometric on 14th. But, IMO just take 1 day before the expiry, Roger says, nothing would happen will happen when you are in rush.

    🙂

So, as long as you can take the exam on or before 4/20, you are good to go.

Yup, got the confirm (in writing) from the MD board that I can take it on 4/20 – so that's what I'm doing b/c there's not a 4/19 and I'm gonna need as much time as possible

Has anyone figured out how to do the second to last AICPA sample test SIM for tests?

Oak Co. is preparing its financial statements as of and for the year ended December 31, year 5. Review the exhibits above to identify any adjustments required to the draft income statement for the year ended December 31, year 5.

Does anyone know how the amounts for net effects of adjustments for assets of (100,000) and for liabilities (11,000) was found?

Also how was the 2.91% calculated for the return on assets i did net income of 711,200 / (45,025,000 + 35,109,000) but did not get that percentage

How's everyone's studying going? I just passed BEC on 3/8/18 and I can't seem to focus when studying for FAR. Any tips to get back into study mode?

Hi Everyone, just wanted to vent somewhere….. I am completely lost in the Govt. accounting section, the videos in Wiley are just monotonous (do not like Prof. Gillespie). I have Ninja subscription too & the material in videos is outdated. I never took this class in school and now I am just tired of this section. Is anyone else feeling the same??

This would sound funny but the one thing I am doing differently is not getting scared of the material :).

My first attempt for FAR was in June 2016 with that said I am also international candidate and english as my second language, so the material for FAR was very exhausting and scary :D. I think the 1 point I lost in FAR just becoz I was not confident. When I was in review phase with NINJA and Becker, whenever my questions got wrong I was feeling like no way I am going to pass this exam, rather than learning the matter with the questions I got wrong.

This time I have Roger and NINJA monthly. Y'day I finished all the questions from NINJA today I will do all the troubled and missed and revise the topics I am getting wrong in. Also this time I am focusing equally on Sims, becoz it is 50% and no matter how much I am smart in MCQs; I should be able to solve sims in 10-15 min with the long TBS format given.

Strategy from tomorrow Timed MCQS and sims. Practice test 4 hours at least 2 everyday for last couple of days for FAR. Cannot afford to loose 1 point below 75 this time.

@Futurecpa when is your exam? If you have enough time then re-listen to the lecture and make notes. If not then do as many multiple choice and sims, eventually make sense. I usually go through the headings subheading and and like we do brainstorming make notes kind of that, so at least I know what come under what heading. And then of course MCQs + sims make things clear.

I hope this tip helps. 🙂

    Back to studying guys.
