@KN I used Wiley for BEC and FAR, taking FAR next week. Wiley also has the phone bit. I recommend dividing 2/3 time between learning material (2/3) and cramming for test (1/3). In the cramming, you take a ton of practice questions. With any standard test, I always recommend having one page of “memorizable” things, which you quiz yourself on daily until there are no weaknesses. On a separate note- your message was very cryptic. Is everything ok? Why do you need to pass CPA in 8 months? CPA is a “nice to have” in life, not a “need to have”.

    Hey guys,

I'm planning on taking FAR on July 9th. I'm using Gleim and have about 5 chapters left. I'm planning on completing it in the next 3 weeks and just doing multiple choice for the final 2 weeks before my exam. Is this a good plan? I really feel like I haven't learned much so far. Let me know what you guys think!

@Jmac645 – Don't believe it is. Based on Becker it says if you're taking the exam on or after June 11th then use the new version which includes Partnerships.

Also curious about the revenue recognition question. Anyone who's taken the exam have any recommendations?

I just took it today, used Becker, didn't need to know much revenue recognition, I think maybe jsut performance obligations. I don't know if what Becker had was based off new rules.

@Nate – Thanks Nate! Any other suggestions on preparation? Taking it on Saturday so may or may not be panicking.

Did anyone feel like there was a lack of direction on any of your sims regarding if the answers needed to be in a certain order?

I had a few sims where line item answers could have been entered in different orders and the same final answer would have been calculated. I don't want to give the nature of the sims, obviously. But the directions did not seem to indicate if the line items needed to be entered in any kind of order (chronological or by amount, etc). Do you think it matters as long as the correct answer was reached?

So i have a question about the ELL study plan for whoever is using that. Is it confusing that they want you to finish the notes and the audio many times for the whole content while not yet learning the actual information/concept from the study book yet.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list/table of different accounts (“financial statement elements” per Becker) and how they are measured (eg. historical, NRV, PV) or a resource you'd recommend for learning this? I can't keep it all straight from the way the textbook is jumping around between random topics.
