rbcpaParticipantHi guys
I’ve been preparing for far for the last couple weeks and I’ve done all the becker lectures and about 40% of the homework so far. I’ve listened to the ninja audio daily and I’m kind of freaking out now because I’m not getting a grasp on the material aswell as I would like.
What’s the best way to use up the time and conquer FAR?
Dec 5th could be my last exam!!
BEC - PASSED
AUD - PASSED
REG - PASSED
FAR - PASSED

ziebaParticipant80% or better is good! I'm posting 50's on the Wiley stuff, but I've only done 150. No doubt I can get it up there 75+ before exam, I love that instant feedback and explanaton.
AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)
BEC - 74 , 77
REG - 65 , 76 (10 point combooo!!)

ziebaParticipantBy the way, I've been meaning to ask those of you who ask Becker:
Is it just me or are their homework problems incredible involved and difficult? It's almost discouraging because some are SIM level. It takes hours to get through a block of calculation intensive stuff, as it winds through every nook and cranny of a chapter. Then you stumble upon questions which were “Released 2005 or 2011” and they're clean cut, thought provoking but much easier and approximate what I've seen on the exam which I sat for.
Yes, being able to do everything is ideal, but slogging through 56 calculation heavy questions is extremely discouraging. Are all those questions – other than those marked adapted – actual CPA questions? I wonder what the reason is behind recent releases being more theory based.
If you work through the 62 available SIMS on Wiley, there's a good chance 2 or 3 of 6 will be on the exam. The problem is that you can only memorize – maybe to the point of identification on sight (without detail) – so many problems.

AnonymousInactiveHello! I am taking FAR on November 27th (waiting on Audit, which I refuse to check Friday, until after my exam). If I do not pass both, then I lose BEC and have until June to pass whatever is left.
Does anyone live in the NYC area that wants to review for FAR? Let me know! Sometimes just discussing with someone helps to make the concepts sink in faster. I can be reached at andrianashch@gmail.com.

ziebaParticipantI'm sitting here equally frustrated. I passed my other three without much difficulty, this one is just not sinking in. Have two weeks left and would also appreciate any pointers!
Right now, I'm doing Wiley CPA testbank… can anyone make a strong case for switching to Becker hwk MCQ's and just redo those? I feel like both are the same type and presentation.

NeowarcloudMemberZieba – FOCUS! With regards to Becker vs Wiley MCQs…They were fairly similar – I've used Becker about 90 percent of my studying and I got a trial of WTB and I was still scoring 80+ percent…The Wiley sims were not impressive in my opinion. If I had full access, I'd switch back and forth…
In previous exams(AUD, BEC, and REG), my questions have typically been more like the questions I get with Becker, which rarely try to trick me and are very overt with the information they supply. I think I've seen some straight up exact same q's.
REG 8/12 - passed 79
BEC 7/13 - passed 84
AUD 8/13 - passed 83
FAR 11/13 - Passed 83Now off to a new county...
