thanks, pacific. i dont think a pass is possible (which is fine – i gambled on begin able to get this together on such a short timeframe to shift my bonus into a lower tax year ), so i'm more interested to see whether this amount of preparation is a 45 or 65 or 74… i haven't even looked at videos/info for some of the heavily tested topics (specific transactions) and havent dont MCQ for about half of hte material that i have skimmed. so i really don't deserve to pass at this point…

I am taking FAR with one week of studying using CPAExcel… I want to shoot myself in the foot, but I am thinking of skipping a lot of sections also… I never took a NFP or Gov class so I am going to go through those pretty good… my thing only says I am 10% of the way through lol, but thats because I have just been using the study mode so it shows me instantly what and why I got it wrong

to be honest, it didn't seem like the beast that it is made out to be, but there's a chance that that's only because i failed so miserably. (will update if that is the case). (on the comment about it being not THAT tough – i feel like REG covers an equal amount of material and gets tested more specifically, but maybe my FAR test was just general because i didnt do well enough to get difficult questions. we will see)

still think i am likely to have failed because testlet 2 did not seem to be any tougher than one. both were very highly conceptual, and questions were pretty general (though i def don't think i was getting everything right).

3rd was clearly tougher (phew) with a lot of calculations, and i think i actually did pretty well, so maybe there's a shot!

SIMS were not too brutal either – research was super easy, 2 others i was highly confident on, 2 others were medium difficult/sureness, another 2 were a bit harder and probably less correct.

overall if i had to call it now i'd say i got a 71 (shoutout to this website)… not the 55 that i expected 24 hours ago (well i guess i'll see about that on dec 7) but i am expecting my first failing score.

thats a good place to begin focusing… i was in the same situation, never learned that in class, and CPAexcel does a good job covering what needs to be learned (and trust me, it needs to be learned.)

You have got to be kidding me! Haha!! Lucky you!

Did you have a super intense cram week or what?

I have another friend who passed it in two weeks study. Me, I am taking THREE months. Yeah, pretty pathetic I know.

i had the luxury of taking the week off of work beforehand… so sunday-friday (test was 1pm sat), i pretty much had nothing else to do. i can't focus THAT well, so its not like i was focusing for 14 hours a day… prob more like 8 hours per day of work done without having any work/family/etc stress.

    thanks, ipass.

now that i did it twice successfuly, i can honestly recommend cramming as a strategy. for both AUD and FAR i had less than a week to do the vast majority of studying, BEC a little longer, and REG was the slowest. if lifeschedule allows, try to get in as much as possible right before the test…

I have to second Valueofnothing, to an extent. For each of my exams the week before was always fairly intense for me (i.e. doing 3-4 chapters during that week). Definitely helps in terms of keeping things fresh versus if I had longer study time frames. Never chose to do it that way, it just worked out since I was busy with schoolwork and would usually get behind schedule. Good luck!

I can see the 1 week cram approach working for audit but not for FAR (for us mere mortals). Congrats….very impressive.
