So this year I lost all parts that I passed after I did not pass FAR in time. I have been studying for this exam now 5 years, and after having to start all over again this summer, I definitely thought about giving up.
However, I knew that was an option and that someday it would come back to bite me. I work in tax and while I don’t see myself working in public accounting for the rest of my career, I still can only dream of where the CPA might one day take me.
In any case, I found out today I passed with a 78!! It took me FOUR tries this year to pass it and my score steadily went up each time…some people had told me to quit and walk away. But I wanted to pass even more to prove I can do this.
For FAR, my advice is to reread the entire textbook the week before the test, and do at least 30 MCQ from every chapter. In my opinion, it is NOT about how many MCQs you can crank out. Rather, if you know the concept, you can handle any question.
I would suggest no more than 90 min for the MCQs so you have 2.5 hrs to complete the SIMs.
Don’t give up. Don’t get discouraged.
As for me, on to AUD!
