I took FAR today and honestly felt like I had to guess on a lot of MCQ’s. This comes after a LOT of studying. I guess I may have gotten unlucky with some of the questions i drew.

Testlet 1: easy/medium difficulty

Testlet 2: easy/medium

Testlet 3 easy/medium

I could not notice much difference in difficulty throughout the test.

The sims were pretty tough. 2 or 3 i had no idea and made educated guesses. I feel like i may have gotten about 40-50% correct on sims.

As far as the rest of the test goes, I honestly have no idea. I felt like i may have gotten about 60% of the questions right. I really felt like i was strong in gov/nfp, but after taking the test and seeing the questions I got, maybe I was wrong. I honestly feel much worse than I did when i came out of my first test (AUD) and I made an 80 on it. Im hoping there is a chance in hell I passed this thing, because I damn sure dont want to do it again.

I took FAR earlier this month. I can never tell the difficulty (I still don't understand how people can tell that) level. My experience was probably same as yours, I don't have any hope to pass but I will find out tonight. My SIMS were torturing and I don't even know if I got the AL one correct.

I always tell myself…nothing I can do now to reverse/change what I already did. I took 2 days off studying after my FAR. I have heard people passing with horrible experience with their exams so we can hope we did too :), Good luck to you!!!

My FAR experience was definitely the worst I've ever had for any exam in life. I mentally checked out in the third testlet, thought I got absolutely destroyed by the SIMs, and yet I passed with an 84.

With the CPA, if you think you failed, that probably means you passed.

I have a general question regarding time budgeting during FAR exam.
my understanding is that time will begin with 0 minutes and adds up until reaches 240 minutes (4 hours).
Is this how it works?

I am planning to sit for exam in Sept 7th and want to have a time allocation, so i know at what time i should/must be done with each part and move the next.

@rsg149 You can never tell how you did. I felt the same way. FAR was my 3rd exam and I was just overwhelmed with all the material. I did not even get a chance to get to F10 in Becker. I had already passed REG and AUD. I felt FAR was my hardest exam and left feeling so defeated. When I left the exam I really felt as if I made in the mid to low 60s. I was very certain that I did not pass. I have been studying for BEC now and it was hard to focus knowing that I am going to have to back up and take FAR again. Then this morning, a miracle happened. I checked my FAR score at 1:00 am and it was not showing. I checked again at 3:30 am and I passed with an 86. I was in complete shock and printed the screen just to make sure they can't take it away from me and say it was a mistake. There is always hope so don't beat yourself up. I was in your shoes about a month ago.

@paymeforcpa Yea I just don't know what to do. I told everyone when i took AUD that i probably had failed, just to keep my expectations low haha, but ended up passing. I knew I had done somewhat well on AUD, but as for FAR, I really just have no idea. I studied a lot, but I just didn't have high confidence on A TON of MCQ's from the actual test. I was trending anywhere from like 40% to 80% on becker practices. Hopefully I'll be surprised like you were. How did you feel like your testlet difficulty was? did they get harder or stay the same?

Guess the only thing left do do now is start studying for BEC!

When I took FAR, I couldn't tell if the testlet is medium or difficult either. Also, on my first testlet, I forgot to choose 7 questions (I flagged them but mistakenly hit SUBMIT twice even the computer reminded me.)
But I still passed it. So wait until the score released. Maybe you didn't do badly as you thought you did.
