Went in to the exam feeling confident left feeling incompetent. Whoever the people are that make up these questions, they are the ones that I want to take a prepratory class with so i can learn they’re format for the sims and the types of multiple questions they will ask. I think one of the reasons why there is such a low pass rate for the cpa exam is that the person teaching (Narrating) you the material is not the one giving you the exam. In college, the Professor taught, the professor gave. I saw some multiple questions that made absolutely no sense to me and the sad part is it involved topics that I thought i was super comfortable with. I would give an example but don’t to make waves. Anyway, after taking FAR for the 2nd time, I’ve come to realize that if I fail this exam, next study time around, I really have to blow up every single question and make it the hardest simulation I can possibly think of. That’s just how it is and how it has to be. You don’t even want to know how many hours and months i spent preparing for this exam. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Becker and they have helped me tremendously but now it’s time for me to take it to the next level. I’m know I’m not a genius but I know I’m not stupid either. I know when i study and make a valiant effort i see good results and that’s what needs to happen here!! I didnt sleep much last night because I’m still in shock but I am going to win this battle. There will be blood!!!!!!!

IN SHOCK!!! Passed ya'll, an 82!!! Makes NO sense! I get it now..I totally get it when people say they passed when they were sure they had failed. I thought they were full of BS (seriously). I still don't understand how this is possible…this exam totally bogus!! But I'm accepting the win and moving on to hopefully my last section.

I knew in the depths of my heart there was a SLIGHT chance I could pass……. as in a score of 75 slight!!!!!!

I was almost ALMOST to the point of purchasing my next set of study materials for FAR before even getting today's score, that's how sure I was I did not pass. Thankfully baseball and Halloween kept me happily occupied this week!

Maybe I can help some feel better. I took FAR back in 2010 and will be taking it again in a couple of months. I thought FAR was not bad at all. I wouldn't say I had easy questions but I worked so many MCQs through Gleim, I was prepared for what I saw. I didn't have Ninja Notes or any other supplement but I did use Yaeger for the sections of FAR that I was not familiar with. I spent my college years in a mental bubble so I didn't catch a lot of things. From my score, it looks like I studied just enough to pass. I think I would have scored around an 80 if I wouldn't have gotten laid off my job the week prior to my exam.

My point is, if you do tons of multiple choice questions and work on your test anxiety, you may do well. If you want to get a good feel on test day go to your public library or other quiet place, sign in to WTB in exam mode, and sit there through 3 testlets and a couple of simulations. Conduct yourself just like you would do on exam day. Just park your booty in the chair until you finish the test. Maybe that will help you with your anxiety since to a certain extent, you will be in a similar testing environment later.
