Hi ALL,

13 days until I attempt to slay this beast. Where can I find confidence in these last few days of study?

One moment I’ll feel ok, the next, doomed.

You have 13 days, that's a lot of studying… I would suggest on top of your normal review, focus a little extra on your weak areas and try to LEARN them. I would also suggest making sure you are decent when it comes to using the search function of the AL and even reviewing SIMs in your weak areas.

Find confidence in yourself that you have put forth a lot of effort in preparing for the exam and while studying over the next 13 days you are only increasing your knowledge of the materials. You will do fine, keep yourself calm and bring your confidence with you to Prometric, you will not be the first or last person to slay the beast, just do it.

Do not re-review the material – this will set you back. You already know FAR. You already know Accounting. Now, you need to hone in on your MCQ-answering technique and do nonstop MCQs. The exam will test your ability to respond to questions, not your understanding/comprehension of the material.

MCQs. At this point, it would be a waste to try to relearn something. It will slow your progress overall.

I completely know how intimidating it is! It's a ton of information.

BUT, you're only shooting yourself in the foot if you let it overwhelm you. If you let your nerves get the best of you, then you're already a step behind.

Have faith in your studies. You have worked hard. Have confidence in what you have learned.

Continue to do as much review as you can, while still getting enough rest. Go into the exam with a humble confidence.

FOCUS….. BREATHE.

Try your absolute hardest without getting worked up about it.

Just know that you can always take it again, if you don't get through this time. Not the end of the world, so take a little pressure off of yourself.

Just do your best, pray for divine support, and have comfort in knowing that you've come this far.

In these last days, continue to do as many MCQ's as you can.

Disagree on don't relearn material….depends on what type of learner you are. I learned the majority of each test I have done in the last 13 crunch time days then reviewed last few days anything I felt I could not do a full sim on. If you haven't done practice exams that's where I'd start so you can ID your weakest areas. If there's something you obviously are not getting or need work on then go re watch lecture and do the hw again, failing over and over at a topic you don't understand just because you are in the last 2 weeks (a long time in study terms) is dumb.

I'd have to agree with the above posters.

Bang out as many MCQ as you can. Easy ones, hard ones, medium ones.. do them ALL.

I went into FAR only doing a combined 30 MCQ 2 days leading up to my test.. big mistake. (Was focusing more on sims) There were so many easy questions that I felt I would have gotten if I only sat down and crammed MCQ..

I think MCQ's are very important, but I agree with ThUnder1990, you need to learn/understand the material as well. I think understanding what you are doing helps for several reasons:

1. it will really help with the conceptual questions

2. it will save you time on the exam. instead of trying to remember what you memorized, you can actually work the problem out quickly and move on

3. it will definitely help with the sims!

4. it will give you confidence!! I cant stress how important confidence is! if you walk in thinking you don't know enough to pass, you will not pass. if you walk in feeling like you know 75% of the material, I think you have a better chance of passing.

2 weeks is a LONG time!!!!! a LOT longer than you may think. Do questions and read the material. Do progress tests, that will also pinpoint your weak areas.

Spend some time on the FAR review page reading through other people's questions and learn from them.

Do everything you hate doing on your last 13 days and you will pass. Your weak areas, chapters you hate, and of course a final review of everything. You need to tie the pieces of the puzzle!

FAR freaks just about everyone out, that's normal. CPA soon hit the nail on the head – if you can't stand looking at it, start reviewing it. And hit those MCQs!

Do all sims, ESPECIALLY on depreciation and core chapters, you won't pass the test without Sims. Sims can teach you MC but doing MC alone cannot teach you a SIM. That's about it, what breaks most on FAR are the Sims, so if you can get that, i'd say you're in great shape.Don't freak out too much, you will recall more during test day than you think.
