Hello all! I’m pretty new to this site and just realized the great advice that is given on this forum from experienced test takers. I’ll be taking FAR in less than 2 weeks and this will be my first exam. Too be honest, I really don’t think I’m very prepared to take it but will probably go ahead and take it anyway. I haven’t done all of the MCs and am still re-reviewing over the last few chapters since I can’t retain the material to save my life. Any tips on how to optimally utilize these last 2 weeks? Should I just ditch my notes and just work on pumping out those MC questions? I’m using Becker btw. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am taking FAR on monday and Super nervous about it too. I have been using the Wiley Books and the Wiley online test bank. I find that when reading the material sometimes its hard to understand, but then I get the points more with the questions. I try to read the entire chapter for the main ideas and information – then do all the MCQ's to learn the information more in practice. I also rather than just randomly doing questions on Wiley's CPA bank, do the questions and simulations by subsections and track my scores. You can get free access for 24 hours on the Wiley test bank which I used on 1 full weekend day and did tons of questions. I also think that really made the difference with the simulations. I used this technique for REG and thought I didnt do so well but got an 87. Just keep focused and try to do as many practice things as possible. I used the cpafree review online, wiley test bank, reviewed the 2011-2013 AICPA test questions, and did the Wiley test bank. I think the more times you see a question in different ways the more you will be able to learn the information and oncepts.

@christapessagno Thanks for your feedback! Yeah, I'll be taking it on Tuesday and still feel as unprepared as I did before. It's just so much material. I've just accepted my fate at this point lol. I'm currently using Becker but hear so much about Wiley so maybe I'll look into that to supplement for my next exam. Judging from your REG score, I think you'll do great on Monday. Good luck!

Fighting for sanity. Let me know how it goes. I took mine last night and it was horrid. It was a lot of government and IFRS- but it wasn't just the basis – it was a lot of detail. The sims were almost all indepth journal entries. Feeling like I am going to have to retake it for sure. Super disappointed.
