Has anyone else taken the same section on both the old version and the new version?

Just took FAR today with the new exam changes. I had taken FAR before, about a year+ ago on the old exam. The exam I took today felt a LOT harder than the one I had before. The main reasons were because time management was more difficult being that there were more SIMS and the SIMS were broken up, and also because frankly even the MCQs were just longer on average. Not feeling good about my chances. If I get a 75 then praise God, but I’m going to be signing up for a retake in August anyways just in case so I can minimize the chances of having one of my other sections expire.

    BEC - 69, 77, 83
    AUD - 63, 68, 70, 79
    REG - 69, 63, 70
    FAR - 60

BTW I was talking with my boss a couple weeks ago before taking AUD and he said that was the one he had to take twice. He also said he was glad that it was a paper-pencil exam (in 1989-90) – scantron and blue books or something like that? I don't know if the AICPA gives other formats of these exams to anyone…do they? Does anyone know?

@Sunni I'm with you. I found the SIMS on this format to be easier than the SIMS on the previous format. Reason why? The SIMS align more with what we do on a regular basis at work. This is the new CPA exam format. They are moving towards more application real life experiences. I definitely think it is for the better of the profession. It will take candidates longer to adapt but the AICPA will not change any of the way the exam is given based on feedback they receive from exam takers in Q2. I am sure this is nothing new to them as they have released a few new versions of the exam over the past 10 years and everyone seemed to adapt accordingly over time.

I would definitely agree that the sims are much more like real life scenarios now. That being said they were still hard especially given the amount of time allotted. Overall a positive change, but a major pain right now.
