My First Exam

    Hello,

I gave my first exam (FAR) on Sunday after about four weeks of study (maybe put in 70 serious study hours)

My first testlet was of average difficulty. I think I did well, maybe got around 70% correct and it took 45 minutes. I checked my flagged questions and reviewed my educated guesses. I rolled on to the next testlet, happy and expecting it to be tougher. Surprisingly, the testlet was full of short problems and conceptual type questions and I was done reviewing the flagged questions in 30 minutes. I am guessing this testlet was easier or shorter because I did not do as well as I thought I did in the first testlet. (what a bummer!). Anyways, my third testlet was the toughest (what a relief!) among the three and I must have guessed around 10-12 questions and it probably took me around 50 minutes.

I still had an hour and fifty minutes so I relaxed and had a brain fart as I decided to go to the rest room although there was probably no need to. I came back to start my simulations (down 10 mins) with the clock at around an hour forty.

I felt the SIMS were a little tougher than I imagined it would be. I struggled a bit, although the subject material I was hoping for including Bonds, Pensions, Non Profit Accounting, Depreciation, Cash Flow and even Research were all there. (I should have put in that extra week of study). The most frustrating part was that the Brain fart I had earlier came back to haunt me as I had to nervously hurry past the last couple of SIMs and time ran out as I was half way through my last SIM (bonds).

    Has anyone

    1) Had the experience I had with my testlets? Easy (thought you did well), Easier, Hard

    2) Had a brainfart that lured you to the restroom (in between testlets) for no reason?

    3) Had to hurry taking the Simulations and missed a good chunk of the last one?

    and ….how did you score?

    FAR - 11/30/2014 (?)

The testlets are either medium or hard, so how easy depends on whether your comfortable with the subject but the first one is always medium and it either stays medium or gets hard depending how you do.

I always get brain farts on the exam but I usually try to take breaks for water and restroom. My 74 on FAR I missed 3 and half sims, completely blank as I ran out of time. But I was killing the mcq that day so that's y I had a close score.

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..
