Hi guys! I am finally home! Prometric today took 45 minutes to sit me for my exam. I had never waited that long and it was a little annoying, especially since I was racing to get there on time. There were people that had been waiting for an hour…something about the CPA exams not launching. I just tried my best to ignore that, remain calm and make conversation with the other test takers in the waiting area, who looked like they could use something to distract them. Exchanging war stories for a bit made the wait seem faster. Literally right before I was called in I felt one of my migraines creeping in, which seriously took away from the fun testing experience. Bummer.

As far as the actual exam, the whole plan of leaving 2 hours for the sims was a total and complete failure. I took one entire hour on the first testlet and I was racing after that. Nothing seemed out of left field, which is a good thing, but at the same time I had to guess on quite a few, so I have no idea how I did. Took a break after testlet 2 with 2 hours left. When it was time for the SIMS I had only 1 hour and 14 minutes left. 15-20 more minutes would have been great to help me research the answers I didn’t know. I had to right-out guess on a couple of parts here and there.

All in all, it was as awful as a FAR exam will go, but I think my materials prepared me well for it. If I fail it’s because I did not review enough, and I know that. Will be ecstatic if I pass but won’t be surprised if I fail.

    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! šŸ˜€

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently šŸ™‚

Hoping Amay that you and I passed. I took mine yesterday and am walking around in a state of shell shock today. I think I worked way too fast through my testlets because I was so worried about the Sims. I can barely remember any questions (except of course the ones that I know I got wrong). I know that one of my sims is wrong and have been kicking myself all night for the stupid way I answered it. Too scared to move onto audit because I thick I'm going to have to do a reschedule of FAR the first week of April.

@Quinacridone I barely remember anything from my test yesterday. It's all a big blur. I think there is no point in obsessing. Only thing to do right now is wait. I hope we both passed too!

I see, Amay, that you already passed audit. I just opened my auditing book about 20 minutes ago. Pressing on. Regulation was my first test – I found studying for Reg enjoyable (especially compared to FAR).

Amay, YES! I completely did love Reg and missed it when I got into Far. I would read the newspaper in the morning and automatically start determining the tax effects. Reg came together for me like a big wondrous puzzle, all nice and neatly. FAR never did that for me. FAR was putrid and made no sense and didn't seem to have any everyday application. There was no rhythm to the studying either – just chapters and topics thrown at you. And all the different methods: GAAP, IFRS, GASB, NFPs – thrown at you like Picasso's Guernica. https://www.pablopicasso.org/guernica.jsp

It was worse than trying to understand my cat who sits and stares at me when she wants something. She's all black with these bright green eyes, so when she looks at me its very disconcerting – this horrific level of contempt at my stupidity for not understanding her as well as I should. Don't look her back in the eyes, she'll kill you! That's FAR!!

Amay, Friday can't come fast enough…I have nothing to distract me (other than life but not important right now lmao)..but I did spend time with my family today and did not think about studying once…I felt empty without the guilty you talked about…so true that it does stay with you when you are not studying…
