    Hello,

My name is Pete and I sat for the FAR section of the exam this past Saturday. I attempted to score myself as I went along as follows. For each multiple choice sections I wrote down how sure I was I got it correct. Obviously the lowest % I would write is 25% if I completely guessed. If I narrowed it down to 2 answers I wrote 50% and so on. If I knew it for sure I would write 100%. If was confident in my answer but not 100% sure I would write 80% or 90%. I think you get the picture.

On the first set of 30 out of a possible 3000…I got 2345…roughly 78%. I am 100% sure the question got harder on the 2nd 30 question and my total came to1910…roughly 64%. I am 100% certain the final 30 got easier and my total out of 3000 came to 2470…roughly 82%.

    For the SIMS-

    #1- 90% correct

    #2- 50% correct

    #3- 100 % correct

    #4- 90% correct

    #5- 75% correct

    #6- 80% correct

    #7- 50% correct.

Now I completely understand that when factoring in that all the questions I got right could have been ones that didn’t count and I could have just guessed wrong each time… I am just baffled by the metrics of how they score it… and yes I know it has nothing to do with the % you got correct… does anyone have a guess of there is any chanced I passed?

all i did was memorize the final % at the end of each set of 30 questions… time as never been an issue for me… in fact I usually have to slow my self down because i have so much time left over… this is my last section so i have nothing to do but worry….lol

i kinda wish i could study for another section cause the time seems to pass quicker but if i passed FAR I will be a CPA!!

You'd have better luck trying to figure out the ending of LOST than you would at determining exactly how they grade these things.

What's your follow up move here – figuring out the Quinella bet on the next Kentucky Derby?

It's in the examiner's hands brother. Time to start studying for your next section.

Folks, lets not project or wish failing grades for ANYBODY. Not cool.

OP, you're going to have to follow up with what your actual score is. But I am LMAO at the notion of you memorizing the % correct at the end of each section. You mean the % you perceive to be correct, which really has no relationship to the score anyway.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.
