Hey everyone, I am using Becker self study, and I am just curious as to how long it takes fellow Becker students to study FAR? From when you first began to when you took the test, how long did you study?

2 months or ~9-10weeks. use last 2 weeks to review materials.

any more might hurt, since the volume of material is sick.

any less might hurt, since you won't memorize/learn what you need to know.

however, remember, everyone is different, and some people can do it in 4 weeks, 1 month, or 4 months.

This question cannot be answered by a simple nominal figure. There are too many variables in the situation. I personally spent two weeks going over the material, took a week off then came back and spent a week reviewing and took it. Waiting on my score now, but felt confident in the exam. If you could provide some more insight on your study habits, previous knowledge, time since you graduated, performance in intermediate classes, current other obligation, etc… We might be able to give you a more precise answer.

Wow you are one of those people who can cram well or did exceptionally well in school. Any way, I don't know anyone that basically browsed the materials and took the exam and passed. Good luck though.

Back to the topic…..some have taken any where from 4 weeks to 3 months. Just depends on how well you can absorb the material to be prepared to test. Three weeks is a little gutsy…. :-))

Accounting is my LIFO – I took about 14 weeks, the last two of which were review and cram course. I work full-time and have 2 kids. I studied about 15 hours per week, and about 50 the last week. I passed with an 84.

I did something similar to Adrost. I started a new job in January and my NTS was expiring at the end of February. Just in the thick of tax season. I wasn't going to even try, but was too cheap to give up the money and decided to just “get through the material”. I spent 3 weeks of all my spare time that wasn't spent putting in 55 hours at work on studying. But I pulled it off with a 76. I wouldn't recommend that strategy though. I would probably say 6-8 weeks is doable as long as you commit your free time to studying. I used Gleim.

I took off three weeks of work and studied as my full time job – so if you have the flexibility I think you can get it down to three weeks! Best of luck!
