A couple of comments on my experience:

    1. MCQ felt like the testlets were easy, hard, easy for me. They were much easier in general than the NINJA MCQ I had been practicing. I was concerned with timing but was able to fly through the testlets much faster than my practice pace in NINJA.

    2. The SIMS were a different story. Had close to 2 hours on them. Pretty sure I got the research question right and likely partial credit on most of the other ones. Still trying to figure out how I could of prepared myself better for them. The small details matter…

    3. Some of the “Core” material in my preparation was not really tested at all. This was a surprise to me.

I left the testing facility feeling for sure that I had failed but after reading about other experiences I think I have somewhat of a shot. The SIMS were just really deflating, maybe I was able to do enough to get partial credit on enough of the entries. We will see. Overall, a pretty good experience, hopefully I get to move on to AUD but we will see.

I took FAR as my first exam at the beginning of January and my experience almost mirrored yours. I came out of it with a 77. I am sure most of my score came from MCQ's and I got just enough from the SIMS to push me over the edge and pass. I hope you get good news and pass!

    Far - 77!!!!!

Most definitely. And I'm stunned that the actual MCQs were easier than Ninja.

I took FAR when I wasnt taking the CPA exam seriously. My experience mimicked yours except I didnt study GNP and got a 67. If I had tried harder I could've actually passed.

With the amount of studying I put in I would've been surprised to see a score in the 50s.

Keep in mind a 75 DOES NOT mean you got 75% of the questions correct. According to the AICPA a 75 means you know enough of the subject matter to warrant a passing score. Since we dont know how they score these things there is no way to know what percentage of questions you got right.

is there any video or a link to show you effective and good method for the research sims? I just take so much sometimes and I am trying to improve in this regard.. I would appreciate any help..

Thank you for sharing your experience. And I hope you passed 🙂 , FAR is something I don't want to come back to again..
