Feeling a little confident for the FAR exam, but do not want to feel over confident since I don’t want to jinx myself and end up feeling bummed when I get my score on Aug 4th. I just went through last years released questions through Roger and I must say that those questions were really easy to me, even some of the difficult ones. I know this is normal, but did anyone take FAR or any other part and feel like the test was easier then what they were studying. IDK I feel like all the stuff that I have been was theoretical instead of computational and feel like thats where they are going to get me. IDK, ughhh the life of a CPA candidate.

@okcpa2015 i would like to agree with you but that test was brutal. i know most people feel like they failed it but idk man.

Since last year of studying and due to low rates of passing for the CPA exams, I have taken a different approach. I study my @$$ off for each exam and be prepared to put in my application for a new NTS each time on score release day. I go in the testing center each time, calm down and relaxed, and just for broke on each exam. There's only so much you can do and control.

I just took FAR July 2nd. The first testlet was VERY easy. Simple. A lot more conceptual than what appeared on Becker practice exams. Even the computations were easy breasy. I was like “wow! I over studied. I'm going to knock this out of the park!” LOL. Then came testlets 2 and 3 and I had no idea what I was doing anymore and my mind was in a million pieces and I only had about an hour and 10 minutes left for the sims, which I'm convinced were written in a different language. In testlets 2 and 3 there were still many questions that I knew and were confident on, but a few I had to straight up guess on, and then a few where I narrowed it down to 2, but then had NO idea which one to pick. May the odds be ever in your favor!

Just from a scrap paper stand point though, there must have been more theoretical because when I normally do 90 practice questions, I use like 10 pages of notebook paper for work. On the exam, including the sims, the 2 sheets they gave me (front and back) was enough.

@cb_6185 yea idk the testlets didnt seem to get harder but then again the 3rd seemed pretty hard, but then again idk. the sims did feel like they were in another language and i wasn't sure if i had to put values in every single cell because the directions didnt state, so i left them blank, hope it doesn't hurt me….I barley used any of the scrap paper and I'm like, “wow i really suck at this.” I blew through the MCQ quick and had plenty for the sims. Finished with 40 minutes left and said well, “idk what else to do” and ended it. Aug 4th cannot come soon enough. Going to enjoy my week off from studying

Right? I'm at the point where not knowing is killing me. I obviously want to pass (I mean, who isn't…). But I NEED to know so I can come up with a plan of action and stop torturing myself.
