Hi,

I’m taking the FAR Exam next Thursday, and I was wondering if you all had enough time to double check your answers during the exam? or Do you just keep going through the questions…

I’m also pretty stressed because I only finished F7 today and I have T-6 days to do learn F8-F10 and Review EVERYTHING!! I haven’t been doing SIMS either, and reading recent posts, it seems like SIM is something I should prepare on even though its unpredictable…

Please let me know if someone’s been in my situation or close before and survived T.T..

I double check my calculations but many of the questions were conceptual. I don't bother with flagging questions. There is not enough time to go back. There really is no point in going back to conceptual questions. You either know it or you don't.

What is F8-F10? If that is government and not-for-profit, you better learn that pronto. 20-25% of the questions will be on government/NFP and you can get a government simulation.

My strategy is to flag questions that I want to go back to. I answer all the questions in the testlet, then go back to flagged questions if time permits. For FAR I wasn't able to go back to some of the flagged questions.

@fluffy For my FAR review, I ran out of time and was only able to review half of the chapters. I focused on the chapters where i scored low on the homework. I have no idea what to do in you situation. How did you perform in the other chapters?

@Circadian, @CPAKING Yup! I am starting Gov't and NFP tmrrw. F8 and F9. How about F10?? I don't know how deep I should get into it..it's the hodgepodge of all the other stuff.

@Joshua, Ahh good Idea with the flagging, I think I'll approach it that way. I am getting 60% on HW almost consistently on each sections…which is weird..like exactly 60 all first time.. unlucky number?
But I have been thoroughly studying the MCQ solutions, why I got it wrong and what is the correct way to get there. Took extensive notes on them…..only thing is I don't think I might have time to even review them..

I noticed you passed FAR, CONGRATS!!!! How prepared were you before the exam? Did u have time for final practice exams?

I took both practice tests. The tests helped me focus on area's to study during my last days of studying.

I handled the questions in a similar way you did. I seemed to always get the same scores on the hw too.

To be honest, some days I felt prepared other I didn't. I wanted to move the test to the next test window, but decided to give it a shot.

I am taking FAR on Wednesday 7th!
I use becker….I have a question for you guys regarding practice tests.

I am planning to take only 1 of the practice tests on Sunday; since, I am trying to use every single minute that I have to review the materials!

do you guys think, that this is a good approach? or do you think, I should have taken the practice test prior my final review? or must take the 2nd practice test as well?

I wouldn't bother with practice exams. You don't get immediate feedback after answering a question, so it's not very good for learning. I can only see them as being worthwhile if you have lots of time on your hands. Doing tons of MCQs is much better for reviewing the material. In CPAExcel you can do them either in exam mode (don't get answers till the the end of the quiz) or study mode (immediate feedback). I always do them in study mode. Ninja MCQ is always study mode.
