Okay so I took FAR and made a 72. Second time around I went backwards and made a 63. Whats next? I used Becker for all my study time and it is just not getting the job done. Becker has now expired and Im wondering what to do from here. Should i renew it for half price or go with something else? Both exams i did average on on MC. Simulations went terrible on both exams. Something is going to have to change on the next try. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should try something different. CPAExcel and Gleim offer a demo of their course then pick which one you like.

Time to change things up, at least in your approach to studying. You need to find 20 good study hours each week for 6-8 weeks to get ready for FAR. By good study hours, I mean active, mentally-engaged studying. Watching videos and listening to audio is passive and doesn't count. Copying notes, doing MCQs/Sims while taking notes on ones you get wrong, and going over flashcards counts.

Get the NINJA MCQs, it's $47 for 3 month access. Once you get through the assessment phase, focus on your problem areas. Be sure to actually work through the problems (do the math to get the answer) even if you've seen the question before and know the answer.

Take notes and/or get the NINJA notes and write them out and re-write them several times. It's been proven that you retain information much better by physically writing things down vs. typing, listening or watching a video.

I sat for FAR 5 times before I passed with scores of 71, 72, 73, & 74 before I got the NINJA MCQs. I passed with an 88. I raised my score by 14 points from my highest previous score.

When I got the 74 I lost my BEC credit. One more point and I would have been done. It was depressing. I just got my scores for both yesterday and I passed them both because of NINJA MCQs. I'm now done and getting through the admin process to obtain my license.
