FarFromPerfectParticipantHopefully the rest of the country can agree that the Sims were on a totally different level? How could have anyone completed that exam in 4 hours. I find it nearly impossible.

FarFromPerfectParticipant@satyakatiwal when I hear people say they finished the exam with 70 minutes to spare either what they’re saying is a lie or the test isn’t evenly graded across the board. No way on earth that test can be taken in 2 hours and 50 minutes. I’m talking about the new version of FAR with 8 sims, doc reviews and huge worksheets all over the place. If people are finishing tests of this caliber that quickly there’s some corruption going on. Know that.

Ndom1ParticipantI finished with 45 minutes left on the clock. Just got home from the exam.
1st testlet was a pretty easy. Tons of gov and NFP. Finished with 3 hours and 15 minutes left.
2nd testlet questions were more complex. Flagged about 6. Finished with 2:30 left.
1st sim testlet had an easy sim and an absolute monster. Think I managed pretty well on it but it was rather large. Finished that with 1:50 left.
2nd sim testlet was surprisingly easy. A few things that tripped me up at first but nothing I didn’t get prepared for using Wiley. Finished with 1:20 left.
3rd sim testlet was again, kind of basic except for 1 really long one. Finished with 50 left. Double checked some things and submitted with 45 left.
I finished audit with about 75 minutes left on the clock and that was my best score, so hopefully this exam goes the same way.
The sims followed the blueprint.

I took my FAR retake today and I have to say your experience is almost exactly what mine was. I finished with 38 minutes left. I will say I have been practicing MCQs with the intention of speeding up my time. I took way to long on my MCQs the first time I took FAR and ran out of time to finish SIMs. I wish I would have realized that the monster SIM was in the first testlet and would have taken more time working through them all. The SIMs this time weren't as long or as intense as the first time.

AnonymousInactive@cpabound-I had exactly 38 minutes left today! I thought the entire test was manageable, we will see how it all pans out in March!

AnonymousInactiveI took FAR today and it was horrible! There is no way I passed. The first testlet felt really easy, the second harder, which I thought was a good sign, but I wasn't sure on a good number of them. The first SIMS were easy (research was in this one). I ran to the bathroom btwn testlet 3 and 4. I had about 1:50 left for the remaining 6 SIMS and that's when it happened. I struggled through the first set of 3 which all were pretty long with multiple scenarios, tabs, info, etc. I had :24 minutes for the last testlet. I clicked through to see if any of them were shorter/easier and they weren't! So I started with the first one and did as much as I could without really stopping, then went and did some fast work in the last 2 SIMS when time expired. I was beyond devastated. The material in the SIMS wasn't necessarily too hard, but yes there was so much content and empty boxes and different ways of calculating things. Ugh, I wiped my Wiley study material and am starting tomorrow with studying for my FAR retake. If by some miracle I pass, I'll switch to my BEC retake and hopefully get that done. So upsetting, I was really hoping to not have to retake FAR, I know I don't having the failing score yet, but I know it's coming 🙁

aliaParticipantJust took FAR today, and I pretty sure I'm going to have to retake. The MCQ testlets were fine, second harder than first, but think I did good overall. The SIMs were crazy hard. I think I got the research right, even though it was much harder than any I have done before while studying. The rest were super long, a ton of info. I ended up running out of time for the last SIM, which was actually easier. I only did about 1/3 of it. I'm really upset and discouraged. I studied hard and I thought I was well prepared 🙁

FarFromPerfectParticipantOh yeah so I ended up failing that one by 3 ;probably because of the research. So I guess my research skills are preventing me from becoming a CPA. With 100 percent certainty those tests are not all graded the same. No way on this earth. People with 99’s saying they think they failed; are you kidding me? or are they working for the provider?

FarFromPerfectParticipantI’ve seen posts on various discussion boards where people make the assertion that they thought they did poorly only to find out they received a 99. Most likely someone on the payroll for a major review course. They probably make fake profiles as part of a deceptive advertisement scheme.

AnonymousInactiveI agree with you, @farfromperfect
easy to fool these people who are desperate to pass the exam.
