Just got my score for FAR and failed with a 52. I came out of the test thinking I failed but I was hoping it was higher than that. It felt like almost none of the big topics I studied hard were on the test and I ran out on time on the Sims. Gov and NFP were my best subjects so I was hoping that could save me… but no.

I am taking AUD in December. I didn’t know if was a good idea to move on at the time, but now I think it might do me some good to move on to a subject I’m better at. Then I can start over on FAR. It’s just when I think of the amount of time I already spent studying… I want to cry lol.

You should try to score at least an 80-85 on the practice test to make sure you have a chance to get a 75 on the actual exam.

NFP and Governmental are important but that's maybe 15% of the scores? Afterall, public accounting is the true main steam.

You should give yourself at least 1.5 Horus to do the SIMS. That is – if you read the questions and know the answers right away. Sad to say, but reading the long questions and even simply click and typing in the answers will take 15 min each. (And here goes 45 min gone).

You should head for AUD if you are confidential you can pass by the test date, and retake FAR in this testing period (if you still got time) or in the next period.

You know you ran out of time during the Sim, but did you know how to do them? Maybe your low score was due to incomplete Sims? Or was MCQ the problem? You should figure out what happened and how close you are actually away from passing.

AUD and FAR are interrelated so moving onto AUD may help you with FAR. AUD is very conceptual and procedures and process based. You have to read every question, identify at which phase of the process it is asking about, then answer accordingly. FAR obviously is very computational and the concepts are big and varied. A 52 is not a bad first go but listen to JFKGY above. Your practice scores are good indicators of exam performance. Don't memorize, learn the concept and ready everything that comes up with the answers while you study to reinforce in your mind why the correct answer was right and the others were wrong. Set a goal of no more retakes and study to pass! You can do this! Positive self talk matters! Good luck!

I agree with the other two, to an extent. Don't rely so much on the scores, but instead the questions you got right and wrong. As long as you're learning from mistakes, you'll do better on the actual exam. I only scored above a 75 on one practice test, out of 12 (Becker). And ironically, it was Audit, which I barely squeaked by on for the actual exam. Make the first priority learning from mistakes you make and you'll be fine. Good luck!
