Hello all,
Back at it after “attempts” in 2008 and 2015. For some reason, I just can’t seem to get this test off my mind. I forget about it, then after a couple years it creeps back in. I am tax accountant and have worked in industry for 9 years. I have seen a lot of people pass the CPA that basically know nothing about accounting, and it pains me that they were able to pass the exam and I have not.
In the past, I have passed BEC (79) and REG (82), and then basically just stopped studying for some reason. Throw in a couple 72s, 74s on FAR and AUD.
So, I am back at it. Just took FAR yesterday. The exam itself was very fair. I flew thru the MCQ and of the 66, only had about 10 that I wasn’t sure of. Then to the sims….I spent all my time studying the “hard topics”, and none of those seemed to appear AT ALL. The sims were all on topics that are viewed as easier, but I hadn’t looked at that stuff in the week leading up to the exam, and probably fell on my face a bit. 3 of them were extremely vague, with a small 1 paragraph exhibit. I read them and thought “where’s the rest of the information”. Hoping for one of those “I know I failed but somehow passed” scenarios.
Oh well, unfortunately this will be another long wait period until May 9th. Will try to avoid that when I sit for BEC in July.
