Anyone feel like they passed FAR and then failed?

I have never felt so good coming out of one of the sections as I did this time around on FAR. The first time I took it, I was using Fast Forward Academy and failed absolutely miserably (56). I switched jobs and they paid for Becker, so I had that for my retake. Watched all the videos, did every Becker mcq, and supplemented with ninja mcq. I studied my butt off, took 4 days off work for final review, outlined the entire book, and the night before the test made my ever-patient husband listen to me read all my notes aloud 🙂

On test day, the first testlet was dead easy. Second testlet was hard, mainly because several of the questions were very vaguely worded. Third testlet seemed harder still, more vague questions, but through all of it none of the questions seemed as hard as Becker or ninja. Then I think I got lucky with sims? 6/7 were no trouble whatsoever, the last one was weird and vague. But I walked out of the test feeling GREAT. So many of the questions I knew for certain right off the bat. There wasn’t anything I felt unprepared for. The progression of easy > hard > harder seemed promising.

But I know so so many people have said that they walked out feeling like they passed, and found out they failed. Has anyone felt great coming out of the test and passed? Anyone want to offer a little reassurance or food for thought while I wait impatiently for the next score release?

You're overthinking this 😉 It sounds like you were just really well prepared and knew your stuff on test day. I haven't taken FAR but I felt pretty good about my AUD exam and I passed.

Ok just got Far results, scored 88. I am officially done with the CPA exams
I wasn’t able to sleep well since I gave the test because I thought everything was so easy, and I didn’t discuss with anyone since I thought easy meant fail. So I am now going to rephrase I was probably over-prepared. Thank you Lord!!
I wish everyone the very best; please know the basics inside n out.

@Rachel – I felt sick to my stomach, because the test was easy, and I was sure I failed. I am very sorry that your test wasn't a success, better luck next time.

How you feel going in to the test often is a better predictor than how you felt coming out.
It seems you studied thoroughly and felt confident working through the questions. I predict you score well above the 75-mark. Godspeed!

I felt exactly the same as you when I walked out of my FAR exam and I got a 93. I was honestly thinking I might have failed it because I had heard so often that saying “the worse you feel, the better you did” and, since I didn't feel bad at all, I wondered if that meant I was going to get bad news. You prepared yourself as well as anyone could expect to and I'll bet you felt good because you were ready.
