This 74 on FAR completes my apparent quest to fail each section of the exam with a 70 or greater at least once lol I guess I’m the exact person Jeff had in mind when he made the site. This one stings a little more as I would’ve been done with my CPA journey if I could’ve squeezed out another point. Anyway for those who have passed a FAR retake, do you recommend I go through the entire course again or just review and take it again asap while it’s fresh?

    jhd7,

I passed FAR (just found out today). For the entire last month, for every MCQ I did the journal entries in addition to answering the question. I really believe that is what helped me pass. I did not do all of the Becker's lectures, but I went into F10 and did 100 point tests over and over (covering all sections) every other night. Then when I got the scores, the top 3 sections I did the worst in, I copied the questions I got wrong and then intensely studied those the next day. Then on the next day, I did another practice exam from F10. And remember, do the journal entries for every question that you can do. The JEs solidify your knowledge and help you connect in your mind how it all fits together.

My plan if I had not passed the test this time was NOT to redo any of the lectures, but to continue those practice exams. The nice thing about those practice exams is it makes you aware of your weakest areas and keeps you working in your stronger areas.

    REG - Nov 4, 2013: 88
    FAR - Feb 27, 2014: 86
    AUD - April 5, 2014: 91
    BEC - May 6, 2014: 83

    Quinacridone,

Is this your first time taking FAR? this is my first time and I really find that Becker lectures very long. I had the Becker final review and I'm tempted to only watch those lectures, then do the MCQs from chapters and final exams and work on wiley TB for a month. rewrite the Ninja notes. what do you think?

Glad I found this post because I have the exact same question. The material is a week “fresh” in my mind as well and I don't know if I am postponing this test for too long when I can possibly pass it if I work hard, say, in the next 4 weeks.

I started today doing 20 mcqs per becker chapter (hitting those optional questions first that I didn't even touch last time) to gauge my weak areas. My scorecard was not helpful at all since it told me I was weaker on every area except for specific transactions/events and governmental, which were comparable.

I am at such a loss. Does anyone know if I would have to pay to move up the test if the new date is less than 30 days away?

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! πŸ˜€

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently πŸ™‚

74 here on my last exam as well. I felt I passed though when I left. Not a good pass, but a 76 or so. Worst surprise of my life! I started redoing all of the Wiley homework today (I think it's like 1500 questions) and once I finish those I'll retype all my notes again. Zzzzzzzzz

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83
