Look, you are freakin out, the test is coming soon, I understand. Going to let you in on some information:
1. Your wallet is not gonna help you pass at this point (3 weeks). You have a pretty decent review course and good supplemental materials (Wiley). You should be OKAY.
2. You need to start putting in QUALITY hours from here on out. EVERY hour you put in, needs to be quality. No distractions.
If you are really dead set on buying SOMETHING, then Jeff's stuff is pretty good. Here are some things to know about his materials:
1. They work with ANY review course. You need to be familiar with how your review course works and what you feel benefits you the most. Like I said in an earlier post, the lectures in CPAExcel repeat from the PowerPoint. You don't necessarily need them unless you are an auditory learner. Cut them out, write out the PowerPoints.
2. Jeff's notes are mainly for people who did not taken notes throughout their review course (or took bad ones/don't like them). He explains this in the intro to each note section. CPAExcel has the PowerPoints (but they have a lot of info) so I would briefly go over the PowerPoints and take a gander at how he structures his notes to see which you prefer (I think he has samples). However, going with his notes over CPAExcel's doesn't mean you can skip the PowerPoints completely (as you are skipping their lectures). I would recommend at least reading them as they come, doing the MCQ for each section, then wrapping it up with Jeff's notes (should you chose to use them). Tons of Wiley during review week (or review days in your case).
3. The audio files are great for the road or working out. Again, they are something you do not NEED but they are a nice tool.
Now here is something that might cheer you up:
Have a friend in my MAcc program. She had two weeks to study for FAR (procrastinated) and had CPAExcel and no other supplemental material.
This is what she did:
1. She BRIEFLY SKIMMED the study text sections.
2. Focused HEAVILY on the PowerPoints (wrote them out too), and
3. Practiced MCQ like it was her job.
Note: She did not have a Job. Just school full time.
She did this for two weeks and was able to get through CPAExcel's FAR section. Passed with an 81.
I know not everybody is the same, but, it is not impossible.
I currently work 12-15 hours a week, have a relationship (let just say she is supportive), and have school full time. I still think this is possible, I am sure many people on this forum who even have more time commitments than me think its possible. You just need to believe its possible (possible with what you have) and you just really need to put in the QUALITY hours.
