Yaeger / Wiley 2011 vs. Yaeger / Wiley 2012?

    Hi,

I currently own the 2011 versions of the Yaeger self-study, Wiley exam books, and Wiley Test Bank (CD)? Is it worth shelling out the money for the 2012 version of the course, books, and test bank?

(I was able to skim through the 2012 Wiley books and they appear to be pretty much the same as the 2011, but further confirmation would be appreciated!)

(I’m also considering purchasing some form of audio lectures as I have a minimum 1hr 15min commute in the morning, any recommendations on a solid audio lecture series?)

    Thanks in advance!

I currently use Wiley/Yaeger 2011 for 2012 and I've passed 2 of 3. When I failed FAR, it wasn't due to outdated materials, but more of my own studying effectiveness, or lack thereof. I also have used the Wiley Test Bank for the 2 I passed with NINJA Notes.

As for audio, I haven't used the NINJA Audio but from what I've read, it appears to be pretty effective. Considering you have the long commute, it would seem like a good purchase.

I would make sure to at least have the 2012 update from Yaeger. They are around 10-15 per update but you have to buy the 2011 mid year and the 2012 update. I would also try to get the 2012 Wiley software and not use the 2011 test bank. I think Jeff sells them here. It depends on the section but I can say I bought the update for 2012 for BEC and FAR and thank goodness I did for BEC. There were quite a few changes to the governance section. There are also multiple changes to FAR. Basically most of Mod 9A for Yaeger has changed. Jeff;'s audio or notes could be a great supplement.

I passed BEC and REG in 2012 with the 2011 materials. Taking Far next… You'll be fine!

Thanks guys, I will look into the Yaeger updates, and audio (will get one or the other) and am now leaning towards getting the 2012 Wiley software (better to be safe than sorry)…

Hmm… Was hoping to have made my decision already but got caught up with other things, I'll have to look at the NINJA audio demo when I get a chance.

Is the 2012 Wiley Test Bank software only accessible online? I don't really have a problem with that, but I'm just curious because the 2011 version I have is a CD.

@NetsForce we are schedule to release an “Offline Player” for the Test Bank next monday July 2nd. It will be available to all current and future Test Bank subscribers. It's the same software that will ship on 2012 Test Bank CDs in the 2nd half of 2012. So in the future CD buyers and Online Test Bank buyers will get the same software (online + offline player).

As an Fyi the Online Test Bank will be down and offline (if launch holds) most of Monday morning July 2nd.
