Wow, Wiley MCQ are hard!

I’ve been scoring 85% in Becker so I decided to do the 24hr free Wiley test bank trial for the tax sections. Man, these questions go into the minutia. I’m scoring around 75%! They actually have questions where you calculate the amounts after applying phase-outs. I just got a question on involuntary conversion re-investment period with actual dates (I knew the time period but I got it wrong cuz it’s after the close of year GAIN WAS REALIZED). I mean this is ridiculous. I thought I was gonna breeze through this exam if I took it today, but after the Wiley questions, now I’m studying like crazy.

The exam questions can be on ANY detail in the book. Remember that your actual exam questions are drawn from a test bank and I guarantee there is a question like that sitting somewhere in the exam test bank just waiting its turn. That's what makes the exam so hard unfortunately. Absorb as much as you can and pray that the luck of the draw is in your favor in exam day! Good luck!

Wiley TB is so much more detailed and tricky and has some “out-of-the-blue” questions that it makes the Becker program look insufficient to pass. I've passed the other 3 exams with Becker 1st try, but I decided to try Wiley for REG cuz I wanted some updated questions (I'm using 2012 Becker). I mean some of these questions can only be answered correctly if you happened to memorize that one sentence in the Becker text that wasn't in the lecture, Becker MCQ, and wasn't highlighted (e.g. PCAOB inspections of firms with 100+ issuer audits).

Now if anyone wonders if Wiley questions are harder than Becker, the answer is YES!

Haha, @EasyCPA, I had an 100 issuer question TWICE on my Audit test. I couldn't believe it. I remembered it from my Audit class last year.

From what I've gathered, anytime you switch test banks, the questions change drastically and can be very unnerving…so let WTB show you your weak areas to re-study, but don't let it shake your confidence!

am I a total idiot? I have been studying for over 80 hours for audit and have no clue what 100 issuer question means?!

    Over 100 issuers

PCAOB must conduct annual inspections of registered public accounting firms that regularly provide audit reports for more than 100 issuers

    100 issuers or lesser

Registered public accounting firms that provide audit reports for 100 or fewer issuers must be inspected at least once every 3 years

Wiley is definitely harder. However, once I supplemented Becker with the WTB and the Wiley Books I realized many dividends from doing so. Wiley makes you look deeper into the topics and theory so you really have to learn it inside and out. Wiley also does a better job of explaining certain topics in their books whereas Becker seems to glance over something Wiley gets into the details.
