There has been a lot of discussion about the issues with the 2012 Wiley Testbank. Does anybody know if these issues are still applicable……….as I’d like to purchase the test bank. I own and love the 2011 testbank (used it for AUD), but would need the 2012 version for FAR (IFRS) and REG (possible new tax rates, etc.).

Anyways, a big complaint with 2012 was that if you answered a question wrong, but then selected the correct answer, the incorrect answer would not be reflected in your final score when you were done with the set of mcqs. is this still the case?

Bottom line – I would like to purchase 2012 Wiley Testbank, as I love the 2011. Do you recommend the software?

    Thanks for your help.

Thats still an issue, but what I do after looking at the correct response is to put it back to the wrong one. That way the system will take the wrong answer for score's calculation.

I spent one day hating the 2012 version, but now I love it. I am using it for REG.

I agree with Marivy. Wiley TB is great! What I usually do is mark all the wrong questions I get as well as the harder questions and constantly do review quizzes based on only Marked questions.

@Marivy – Are you only using Wiley TB for REG? I finally decided to start studying again and possibly take it at the end of May!

^ what they said. Honestly, I don't think the statistic matters too much unless you are into that. What you can do is what jenuno does, you can mark or flag these questions. Then you even have the option of redoing reselecting the questiongs you flagged(you can see how man questions you flagged in each category(which I think is better statistical analysis)

My only beef is that when I do practice questions. I get way too many on partnership accounting and 2 other topics that I do not need help with. There isn't enough hedging and barter transactions and LIFO pool in my opinion. in fact I have yet to do a LIFO pool, but I only did about 400 questions thus far(which is still alot) still many repetitive questions on the same topics.

I guess I could select the topics I want, but the point is to get a spread so my memory is refreshed for all topics each time. Other than that, I feel this q bank is essential. After I finished all the lectures with becker, I was absolutely shocked at how tricky these wiley questions were!

I agree. I seem to get the same topics over and over, even though I select all the topics to be tested. It may just be a feeling on my part, though, and not based in reality. You can see the number of questions that you've been asked in each category in your progress report. I'm trying to get all my %ages green 🙂 (green is above 75% for those that don't have Wiley)

    FAR -- 90
    AUD -- 95
    BEC -- 82
    REG -- 92

    DONE!

    @jenuno,

I am using Becker and Wiley. I usually leave 1 week before the exam for MCQ's only using Wiley TB. For REG, I have been doing MCQ' s for about 2 weeks.

    Wish me luck!!!

@Marivy I am also using Becker and Wiley! I find Wiley to be much more harder than Becker! I am sure you'll do fine! Mucha suerte! 😉

Thanks for the feedback. I love the 2011 version, so I'm definately going to buy 2012 if you guys support it…..and it sounds like most do.
