Wiley Question –

For those of you who passed REG, what were you scoring on the REG practice exams in the WTB going into the exam? How many practice exams / MCQs would you say you did for your final review?

I just started my final review this weekend for REG (testing on 8/24) and took my first WTB practice exam… scored a 68 so not feeling too great. Hopefully I’ll be able to improve this throughout the week! I’ve heard WTB questions are harder than the real exam so wanted to get a feel for what is a good ballpark score to get prior to the real test.

About a week before my exam I kept doing questions over and over. I'd say maybe 300 a day, redoing them at least once. I was scoring in the 60s first, 70s second, and sometimes I would break 80.

First time, I scored a 70 on a Wiley exam; 74 on the real REG exam.

Second time, I scored a 77 on the Wiley exam; 71 on the real REG exam.

This time, I've forked over the loot for Becker and still have Wiley. I scored a 73 on a Becker exam on SAT and an 81 on a Wiley exam on SUN.

My exam is 08/29

80 on Wiley, 86 on REG exam – BUT – I was also using Becker and Ninja Audio/Notes. I can't put much stock in the comparison though….I was getting good scores on practice tests the first go-round and missed by 1 point – the exam I took had a few topics not covered by Becker/Wiley. If you're scoring in the 80's you should be good – IF the AICPA cooperates and gives you a test that covers what you studied….clear as mud?

I did not do any practice tests in Wiley Test Bank, but did a ton of 10 question practice sets. Out of a total of 1384 MCQ I averaged an overall of 81% (after the first 200 or so MCQ I set every practice set for questions “Not seen yet”). I did WTB as final review in the 2 weeks prior to the actual exam after completing all of Becker. As you can see in my signature, I ended up with a 95.

I think the biggest value was in writing down ‘fact nuggets' for every single multiple choice I got wrong and even for those that I wanted to reinforce the rule. By test day I had 6-7 legal pads completely filled with 1-2 sentence ‘fact nuggets'.
