Wiley Test Bank is killing my confidence

10 days out from my REG exam and am more or less kicking the crud out of the Becker MCQ’s for tax, but still struggling a bit on the Business Law: primarily it’s the Secured Transactions and the PMSI material that is knocking me down. You know; all the crap us public tax accountants will probably NEVER use. However, that’s beside the point and I’m sure at least one person will reply with the infamous: “You may never need to use it but you still need to know it, blah, blah blah.”

I have the Wiley Test Bank and figured I’d start delving into the Wiley questions to supplement. Needless to say, the little bit of confidence I had a week ago is quickly fading. I’m missing nearly every question when it comes to the business law. A lot of the material, as it seems, is not covered in Becker. Anyone else run into this?

I cannot push this back another 2 weeks.

I really need to get this knocked out so I can get all my Auditing review done by December 31 (software expires).

    Any advice? Confidence boost? Etc.?

I know how you feel. A couple weeks before AUD, I got a bad score on my practice exam and flipped out, angry and emotional all at once. It's so frustrating! What I keep reminding myself through this process is that this exam is as much a test of mental discipline and endurance as anything else. You gotta keep yourself in the right frame of mind; tough to do when WTB is tearing down your confidence.

However, there is a silver lining here! First, you still have 10 days to drill down on your weak areas and it's great that you can discover them now rather than on exam day. Just try to tackle one topic at a time with the practice questions and really make sure you understand the explanation for the answer. Writing it out helps me a lot.

One really encouraging thing that someone posted on this forum is this idea: Every time you get a question wrong, don't get hung up on getting it wrong. Just focus on the opportunity to correct a mistake and learn from it. Again, it's better to make the mistake now than on exam day.

Mistake = Opportunity to learn = Good thing!

That's what I do to keep me going anyway. Maybe it'll help you too. Anyway, people say that the Wiley questions are usually harder than what's on the exam.

    REG - 85
    AUD - 99
    FAR - 89 - w/ NINJA Audio and Blitz
    BEC - 91

Using Wiley - books and test bank - 6 months - all 4 first time
