For the everyone who used Wiley Test Bank, I have a question. Did you scores you were making on the test banks correlate with what you actually made on your exam.. Specifically AUDIT. Was your actual score higher or lower? I am asking because the Wiley test bank questions seem fairly easy except for a few sections (Audit Sampling & Auditing with IT). But for the most part I feel like the questions are not too bad.

I just took FAR. I was getting 80's in my practice tests and got a 81 on FAR.

Now I'm studying for AUD. Getting 80's. But I'm not feeling ready for it.

@bobkorz: What was your methodology of studying with Wiley test bank? For example, for each section did you do testlets of 20-30MCQ and repeating that process for each section til you got 70%+? Also, how did you go about reviewing older sections while studying for new ones?

    FAR - 8/30/11 [60] | 11/23/11 [88]
    REG - 10/28/11 [84]
    BEC - 1/2/12
    AUD - 1/21/12

My methodology was to take the exam study mode most of the time, and pay attention to where I screw up, and also pay attention to what it says. Once in a while I take it exam mode if I'm able to do it in one sitting undisturbed.

I take the entire exam, including sims. Because I'll be doing that on the CPA exam. When finished, I look at the “incorrect multiple choice” and “incorrect simulations” to see where I went wrong and learn from there.

I keep taking MCQ's over and over and over until I get sick of them 🙂 (someone famous on this board recommended that)

Since I seem to remember the answers to the questions (something you don't want to do while doing this since the CPA WILL NOT have the same questions as on Wiley), I focus on remembering WHY the other answers were incorrect, not just why the one I selected was right.

One advantage to taking the test online with Wiley is I seem to be able to see how 3 answers have something in common besides being wrong and one answer stands out and that is the correct one. A lot of times I'm like “no…maybe….no…no” so the maybe is correct. Or “no…maybe….likely…no” then I can see the likely one is right.

I tend to learn from mistakes on tests – so if I get something wrong, I'll remember WHY I messed up and am less likely to repeat it, so the Wiley Test Bank is great for my style of learning.

I also recommend taking the ethics test if you're required to do so in your state. Do so while studying for AUD. A LOT of overlap between the two, and it helps with AUD.

@JimboSlice. I am not saying my way is the best way but Audit is a repeat for me. I am doing Jeff's Ninja Notes and on the Wiley Test. I am just taking the default exams each time I do it. I then look at the summary by module to see which sections I made below a 75% and then I concentrate on that section. So I am just doing as many multiple choices as I can.. We shall see how this work when I take the exam on 11/22
