I used to use Becker, but I like Wiley too.
I used both for FAR.
Becker's questions were more difficult to both calculate and also had more misleading traps in them.
Wiley had much easier to calculate questions, and not so many spins on them, but covered many more areas in depth.
So when I worked all the Wiley questions I had to learn a bunch of new stuff, it added another 100 + hours or so of studying to learn it all.
Was it worth it? Oh ya! It saved my bass.
I also must say that I think the difficulty of the questions I experienced on the exam was much closer to Wiley.
I think at least for me, it was easier to get frustrated using the Becker material, because they would put so many twists and turns into a question that it was really easy to understand the material really well and still get it wrong. So you'd end up spending a lot of time figuring out a calculation that you understood really well. IMHO this is not a good investment of time. But yes you have to read all the questions carefully.
Wiley of course covers areas to an extra level of depth. Is this a waste of time? Not really but its a big extra investment in terms of time. When you get down to the nitty grity of the FAR exam because of the limits of the test, they can really only test main topics and maybe 5% of the detail, of what you've actually learned and prepared for. The thing is there is so much they can test you on, and you can't predict what its going to be. So I say go in knowing more is better.
Becker freely admits that they groom their material down to cover most of what is on the exam. So if you don't have as much time to study, maybe Becker might be better.
Of course cost is also an issue. In my opinion plain and simple Becker over charges. Its been acquired by one of these bogus degree mill schools, and they extract lots and lots of money from you.
