    Wiley Question –

what the hell is this. How many different things can they throw into one question?

Is the actual exam this difficult?

Better over prepared than under. Aren't you the one that hated becker because it didn't prepare you enough? I guess Wiley might do a better job!

They use past exam questions in the test bank…Yeah, they're tough but you'll be glad you did them.

They are much harder than the exam questions, which should prepare you for the exam. I use both Becker and Wiley MC material and I believe Wiley questions were much harder than the Becker ones. Don't get discouraged though, I felt like crap cause I was bombing the Wiley questions really hard, while doing so well with Becker.

yeah I'm bombing wiley big time

Im scoring in the 60%s, sometimes in the 40s

Becker is bad for audit but it's very good for other things I realized.

Yes, I'm starting to realize Becker MC may not be so good with Audit. I killed the MC with Becker and I'm now starting to use Wiley questions and not doing as well lol That's why I'm always going to use both becker and wiley for all sections when it comes to practicing MC. I do believe that Becker does well teaching the subjects though.

I heard Becker is great for FAR, it's one of their strongest section. For AUD, its MCQs are great…SIMs can use some work, but then SIMs are always hard on the real exam, no matter what. For REG, its blaw is good, I used Wiley for tax MCQs/SIMs and so glad I did! I heard mixed things about BEC…

I agree that Wiley is pretty comprehensive. I think I went through each MCQ session at least twice for Wiley BEC. Now the CPA-Review-for-Free questions were even harder (longer and more detailed) than Wiley BEC.

I started to wonder if all the “I never seen this before” questions I saw on the exam after using Becker were there all the time in Wiley. Layering material seems like a good way to go.

I'm just freaking out because I'm doing so poorly on these wiley questions

seems like every 2 out of 3 questions are just slightly out of my ability to answer. I hope the real test isn't this way

    should I be worried?

@goodluck, I'm in the same boat—not for all sections but for a few. I'm just going to keep hammering away at them. Do you do your MCQs in practice mode? This has been my strategy so that I'm instantly learning why I got a question right or wrong. Which sections are you struggling with the most?

    #344844

Im just struggling in general. The conceptual questions always burn me.

Don't worry about I am doing the same thing, been getting better but still sitting in the 60s probably, just keep pounding them out and eventually the concepts will start coming to you. Like those have said before if you are at a high difficulty heading into the exam then it will feel like a breeze, remain calm and try to not let the frustration get to you. I find myself giving in sometimes, but in the end it will work itself out.

I thought Becker was fantastic for AUD. Wiley was an equally fantastic supplement for it too.

It's alright, I got because it because it fit my budget at the time. I supplemented everything with Wiley and Ninja notes on the later tries and believe those really helped push me over the edge.

I agree that the Wiley questions can be over the top. Not an issue is you know how to spot the relevant information out of all of the B.S. they throw in just to make things difficult. One thing I wish Wiley did was ramp up the difficulty of the questions from fairly easy to hard, rather than just going for the throat all the time, especially in the simulations. I've had to pull out my school textbooks at times to get a better idea of what I was trying to accomplish.
