    Wiley Question –

    Hi all,

I found this program a couple of days ago and it looks idea for me to use to get my last few credits in. It’s even cheaper than the regular UNA classes.

Does anyone know if it’s legitimate? It looks too good to be true, which makes me suspicious.

Secondly, does anyone know if Florida will accept these credits? I’m going to contact the board again by email and phone, but the responses I’ve gotten to such questions thus far amount to “send us your transcripts after you finish the classes ad we’ll let you know.” I’d like to know before I spend the time and money! Thanks.

Well, I certainly hope it's legit, as I just took two classes from there and submitted them to the Board for licensing. With the backing of UNA, an accredited university, I'm hoping that it should be fine.

HI, mimi! I'm sure it's legit, I'm just trying to do my due diligence.

How were the classes? Did you like them?

    What state are you in?

    Thanks so much!

No worries, I was concerned initially… seemed too good to be true. I decided on giving them a try after reading a few posts on here. The classes were ok, but the materials sucked imo. I had to supplement with my Becker books to pass the tests and quizzes. Pro is that the classes were simple enough to pass.

I'm in Washington, still keeping my fingers crossed that they accept them.

I finally received an official response from the Florida BOA regarding class acceptance, and they will not provide counseling on whether or not classes will be accepted until AFTER you take them. So I guess I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and take them and find out.

This is one more thing to make me nervous about this whole process. I get my MBA in December and should qualify to sit the exam by June, but I'm terrified no one will give an older, career changing mom a chance. Everything I read about the public accounting firms says they all want fresh college grads. Sigh. One hurdle at a time, I suppose.

I wasn't willing to just cross my fingers and pray, so I contacted Wiley and they told me to talk to the program director at UNA. I got in touch with him yesterday, and he said that, while he of course can't make any guarantees, Florida has always accepted their credits in the past! So I'm going to go ahead and register today.

    Hey rbrown15,

My license has been approved, so I can say that Washington does accept UNA/CPA Excel courses.

I kept my fingers crossed but I also researched. I made sure that my state accepted online distance learning courses first, and then made sure that UNA was an accredited university and that I would be receiving an official transcript from UNA.

If all of this holds true for your state I don't see why they would not accept them.

i am yet to apply to the Washington state CPA. I started taking courses with UNA CPAexcel, and it's a relief to hear your story. I was anguished about them no accepting my credits from UNA.
