I think I am missing something here…According to the Wiley MCQ DIHA-0019, the following are Foreign Currency Hedges:

    1. Unrecognized Firm Commitment

    2. AFS Security

    3. Forecasted foreign transactions

    4. Investment in foreign operation

    For question DIHA-0013:

Which hedge of the following foreign currency items is not accounted for as either a fair value hedge or a cash flow hedge?

    A. Unrecognized Firm Commitments

    B. Net Investment in Foreign Operation

    C. AFS Security

    D. Foreign Currency Denominated Forecasted Foreign Transaction

    The answer is B.

This answer is correct. ASC Topic 830 remains in effect for hedges of net investments in foreign operations. The hedged net investment is viewed as a single asset. The provisions for recognizing the gain or loss on the hedged asset/liability and the hedging instrument in ASC Topic 815 do not apply to the hedges of net investments in foreign operations.

I am so confused. Can someone please explain in english?

So annoyed! I emailed the customer support to get a better explanation and they forwarded it to a ‘specialist' who then emailed me telling me to email my question to a different email address. Uh, way to go specialist. Waiting for a response from the new email address, not sure if their forward button doesn't work or what…

Ok so I got an email back saying I had to email a specialist two weeks ago because apparently they can't forward emails to one another so I did. I got an email back today asking me what exactly I am asking. TWO WEEKS LATER?!?! Seriously the stupidest thing ever so I had to take 10 minutes to find the question again and draft an email AGAIN! Holy shit if this takes another 2 weeks to answer then WTF is the point of them having a ‘Help Desk'. Maybe I am PMSing but holy shit this is just dumb!

@akb9874 sorry for the frustration. Wiley Support is not an ideal method of questions about content. While higher-priced reviews may make answering content questions part of their product offering, right now Wiley does not. Support can only forward your question to an editor who forwards to an author. Wiley Support is designed for Account and Technical Support help. This forum is an excellent way to gain feedback on content questions. You can also email testbankfeedback@wiley.com about test bank questions. @Wiley CPA Exam Review – What a load of crap. I've emailed you guys multiple times about errors/grammatical mistakes and so forth.. and was even told through chat I would get an email within 3-4 business days.. This was about 2.5-3 months ago.. Your customer support is horrible.

I screw up customer service sometimes and I'm a million times smaller than Wiley … if there is an issue – just e-mail me … from my experience, Wiley is excellent about helping … they might not get the message from the call center … it happens, unfortunately … I can help expedite if there is a problem … Wiley has always treated my customers with awesome service whenever I bring something to their attention.

@Wiley CPA Exam Review, I appreciate your assistance but I did post it on here before I sent an email and never got help for any one. Then I emailed the customer service who promptly told me to emailed testbankfeedback which I did the next day and I am still here…confused…it just should take this long no matter if explaining question is not part of the product service. I just want to know if the question is legitimate and if so, I think Wiley is responsible for explaining what the heck it means because I just can't make sense of this.

@Jeff, I totally get it taking time but I sent the email on Sept 18th and still haven't gotten an explanation. It is just frustrating because I really want to pass and if this is an error on there part, that is totally fine. We all make mistakes but if it isn't I really need to understand this.

Bottom line, I know someone got the email because I got a response on 10/3 asking for clarification. I feel like I clarified what I was asking and haven't even gotten a ‘Hey we are looking into this'. I am just frustrated I can't get help on this. I'm not mad and I still love Wiley but just don't understand why I can't get better communication.
