So I’ve got the 2011 FAR Wiley Textbook and a Wiley Testbank CD that both came from Yaeger (the CD came with the purchase of the homestudy). I’ve started my review and started going over the recommended MCQ questions in the book, while also doing questions from the CD. I started seeing similar questions so one day I picked up the phone and called Wiley to see if the questions in the book were the same on the CD.

I was really hoping they were because it is SO much faster on the computer rather than flipping pages. So I ask the rep and she says yes, they are the EXACT same. I don’t have my materials with me so in order to confirm so I re-asked the question to be sure and she said yes. I was thrilled. So I get to my materials today and this does not seem to be the case. I checked in sections with a small amount of MCQs and could not match them from the software to the book. I can’t find any indication on my software as to what year it is (and I’ve actually lost the CD).

I’m just curious if I have an old CD, the rep was misinformed, or I am just crazy and they are actually the same.

I think the Wiley rep was wrong. I used the 2010 Wiley book and the 2011 online test bank. There were a few problems that were the same in both, but I found most of the problems to be different. I know that they added IFRS in 2011 which was included in the test bank, but I doubt they changed almost all the problems between 2010 and 2011 for the topics that didn't change. Look upon it as a bonus. The more MCQ you can do, the better prepared you'll be for your exam.

Some questions on the CD are the same as the textbook while most are different.

Ditto what CPAMan said. Wiley's customer service people haven't a clue. I called them with a question a few weeks ago and they were useless.
