Wiley Audit Research Simulations are a mess

So I was review the research simulations on the online test bank and have been getting questions wrong because they keep on using a reference scheme that doesn’t appear to match the research material provided. For instance, one question asks for the section that provides examples of audit procedures that would provide indication of significant doubt about going concern.

Finding the topic is easy but then this is what I see

Identifying Conditions or Events That Indicate Substantial Doubt Could Exist (Ref: par. .A1–.A2)

.09 The auditor should consider whether the results of the procedures performed during the course of the audit identify conditions or events that, when considered in the aggregate, indicate there could be substantial doubt about the entity’s ability to continue as a going concern for a reasonable period of time. The auditor should consider the need to obtain additional information aboutsuch conditions or events, as well as the appropriate audit evidence to support information that mitigates the auditor’s doubt.

The Correct answer per Wiley is AU-C 570 – A1

In a testing situation how do I figure that out if I have no idea what a specific paragraph contains?

i wouldnt spend too much time worrying about the Research sim. According to someone i know who works at the AICPA writing these tests, each research sim is worth exactly 1 point

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

@Gerg: Sorry, but I don't believe that is true.

    AUD - 73 (10/30/13), 66 (5/6/14)
    REG - 69 (4/8/14)

So is this an error on Wiley's part? Because even the answers under the AU-C umbrella don't have a consistent reference scheme.

Gerg….Research questions are very important and its not worth 1 point as you say. I don't know how much its worth, but its probably one of the biggest mistake you don't want to commit when it comes to research questions.

ppilot…YES, I think Wiley research questions and the way they arrive at the answer is quite ridiculous, Im using Gleim alongside Wiley and what you see on Gleim is relatively easy and straight forward. Gleim only test you on the sections and not the paragraphs. I think Wiley is setting up a different dimension and approach to perfect the research questions but I still find the answers very challenging.

For eg. Wiley use AU whilst Gleim uses AU-C, so I was very confused the first time I used WTB; and Im wondering if the real exams uses AU instead of AU-C.

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!

On actual test, if there are 7 questions on TBS, disregarding the (secret) pretest question on it, I am imagining that 1 sim weighs about 5.72 each. {5.72 x 7 = 40.04}. On the contrary, 1 MCQ weighs about 0.67 each { 0.67 x 60.3}.
