    Hi everyone! I have been studying for the CPA exam for 24 months off and on. My Becker ran out a few months ago so I bought the Wiley Silver course a few days ago. I am curious if I should have gotten the MCQ Test Bank or if I’d be ok using Ninja MCQ in place of that? Also, how did you use the Wiley? I read that some people just watch the videos then do the MCQ, whereas others also read the monster book. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    The Ninja MCQ only is perfectly fine. Used them exclusively for studying for my AUD and FAR passes. They were my primary study materials which I did not supplement. But it also took me 7 attempts to pass FAR and 6 attempts to pass AUD, during which I used the basic Roger study material with no supplemental material for the failed attempts. So I pretty much had FAR and AUD nearly memorized. My FAR pass score was an 81 and the prior failed score was a 64.

    I have the wiley silver package and mine included a pretty sizeable test bank. You may want to check all areas of the software before you assume you don't have enough MCQ.

    Id recommend setting up the exam plan and following the course as prescribed before making any decisions how to change it. I found the video lectures pretty terrible for FAR, but some people like them.

    @Defo Hmm interesting. I clicked the test bank option and nothing loaded so I assumed I only had the problems in following each lecture and the assessment questions.

    Any other suggestions? I got through about 9 lectures. I seem to be scoring between 80-100 percent this far on FAR lessons.

    Unless they changed the package contents it may be worth a call to support to confirm you have the right access. I definitely bought the silver package and mine includes a test bank that has the majority of my mcq. these questions are in addition to the ones inside the lessons.

    If you are relying only on the wiley mcq at the end of each lesson i would suggest getting some more questions from somewhere else.

    CPA Excel contains primarily AICPA-licensed questions — these are the same questions you will find in Ninja, although CPA Excel doesn't have adaptive learning technology… Wiley Test Bank adds mostly original questions (and you can buy access via Amazon for 75%-90% less than Wiley direct). Great supplement, but maybe not necessary – hopefully none of us will end up having to do 10,000+ practice MCQ to pass the test :).

    @Defo I just called and they said the only questions the Silver comes with are the ones in the lecture. When I click test bank nothing pops up.

    @PNS2CLT
    do you have a link? It's about $575 less 25% to buy from Wiley 🙁

    I like the lectures on Wiley. Many will say they are boring and dry, but for me the lectures are detailed and that is what I need. Roger lectures are watered down and he is plain obnoxious. There are plenty of questions to practice in Wiley. I used wiley to finally pass BEC after 2-74's with Roger.

    @1skibum – It's probably not appropriate to post a link, but a quick Google search will yield it.

    Another suggestion is to try your local library. Mine has printed copies of the 2013 test bank (I'm not sure you'll find anything newer, since I believe Wiley tightened its licensing agreements up) as well as a collection of other CPA study material from the early 2010s, including Gleim audio CDs. While these materials are dated, probably 90%+ of the material is still revelant and if you're using them to supplement current course material, they will be sufficient (as I mentioned earlier, it's doubtful you'll attempt all 10,000+ MCQ in the WTB).

    I had both Wiley Platinum test bank and NINJA (FAR only so far), and while there was some overlap, there were enough differences that it made it worthwhile for me.

    If it helps, I have the Wiley Silver package. If I remember correctly, when I purchased it, I could not access the whole test bank until after the 2 week trial was over(even though I paid for it the first day I started using it). Once that was done, I had full access to the test bank under the “assess” tab in the top right of the screen. I've only used it for AUD and BEC so far, but for instance, BEC has 1366 mcqs.
