Wiley Question –

OK so I installed this software in Dec 2010 when I received it on my Laptop and my Desktop, worked fine…now I’m trying to run them and I get an error…anyone know how to fix? Will try reinstall, hope that works.

I get this

Cannot open user default database. Login failed.

Login failed for user ‘herb-PCherb’.

File activation failure. The physical file name “C:Program FilesWiley CPA Exam ReviewDesktop 2011wwwApp_DataWileyCPA2011_log.ldf” may be incorrect.

The log cannot be rebuilt when the primary file is read-only.

Hi Herbieherb,

I'm not sure if this will help you, but here goes…I received my Wiley DVD in December 2010 as well. It worked the first time I used it, but gave me an error about the database being read-only as well. I ended up re-installing it and it worked another time. When I wanted to use it again, I kept getting the same message I got before. A few days ago I called the Wiley tech support to see if there was any hope of it working. The first attempt at fixing it didn't work, but then the following has seemed to work because I have opened it several times now without receiving that pesky message…

I had to reinstall it again, but after installation close the program when it opens it at first. Right click on the Wiley icon on your desktop, Click the Compatibility tab, check “Run this program as an administrator”, OK. I hope that helps! It has seemed to work for me so far 🙂

Thanks for the tip celeste! so I reinstalled and set to run as an administrator all the time. Seems to be working on day two..will know more later 😀
