I have learned that Wiley reviews are effective and reputable. That is comforting because I just purchased this review.

But are you passed CPA exams with only reviews and no other textbook that we use normally in academic institution?

Yep. The review texts will be enough reading to prepare. You shouldn't need additional texts from university.

However, many people purchase a review “course” that includes both class lectures, text and practice software.

Some of the courses use Wiley material along with their lectures.

I am sorry @MCLKT…use of academic textbook is unnecessary because you assume that the CPA candidates have already learned the relevant knowledge right? Wut about if I have empty knowledge in corporate tax…do i still need only wiley reviews?

Well, I assume those who qualify to test for the CPA will have been exposed to basic accounting principles through the educational requirements. The detailed concepts that are tested can be learned from Wiley or other review courses.

The practice tests with the software are really good. Even with Wiley text, most candidates will want to get the test bank too. The best way to know if the text is enough for your own needs is by taking practice exams to make sure understand the concepts. If you don't feel comfortable with some of the basic concepts as you work through Wiley then you're right, you may need additional text. But only you will be able to make that determination.

    Good Luck!

I agree @MCLKT. If you've qualified to sit for the exam, you probably have at least a solid base of accounting knowledge in which the review texts will be fine for teaching you the concepts you need to know.

I'm pretty surey to qualify to sit in most states, you had to have at least one taxation class.
