Using Wiley for AUD – strangely not feeling prepared? - Page 2

I’ve been using Wiley to prepare for AUD, and it’s strange, but I don’t feel that good about it – like I’m missing something. I’m scoring in the 80%+ range on my first time going through MCQ. I’m taking time to look up answers though.

Anyone else use Wiley for AUD with success? Or maybe without success?

I'm using Roger books to study and Wiley/NINJA to review to clarify.

@ljrpr Thanks! Good luck to you all!

@10key, I feel like there are enough Wiley questions for Audit and I've tried cpareivewforfree before and was not impressed.

You're not alone there… I didn't use WTB for my first two (BEC & FAR), but did implement it into my studies for REG and felt quite comfortable going into the exam. AUD is a different story, however. My average considering both the multiple choice and simulation questions is in the high 80's (as it was for REG), but I still do not feel as if I'm adequately prepared with less than a week to go.

I think that a lot of it has to do with the nature of the questions in AUD with respect to what you might have seen in other sections; with a few exceptions, calculations in AUD are basically nonexistent and a lot more of the questions are theory based or even things that could seem a little more subjective in nature. With calculations, you either know how to do it or you don't, and even if you screw up a calculation, you can quickly determine whether it was due to (A) not understanding how to solve it or (B) a simple calculation error. The nature of the non-definitional type of AUD questions is different, or at least that is the perspective of my approach. Therefore I'm attempting to do more questions than in previous sections in order to feel more comfortable with typical question stems and understanding the logic behind the answers.

InterFC1 – Great response. Even though I'm coming from a limited perspective at this point, I think you summed it up nicely. It's like MCLT says, you have to get the concepts. While that is true for all sections I'm sure, it seems to be especially true for AUD due to the nature of the questions as you described.

I'm also sure you are right that doing more questions and just getting comfortable with the style is going to be key.

I used only the Wiley book (Self-Study) and Test Bank for AUD. Seemed to me like it was a fairly good representation of the exam. I scored about 10 points higher on the exam than my Wiley Test Bank practice exams were averaging.
