    Hello,

New poster on this board. Was wondering if I could get some input regarding the CPAExcel course from anyone on this board? Thank you.

I would buy the printed Wiley books, each are about $40 a piece.

No batteries to die, no test banks to go offline, you can study anywhere.

    Good luck

I have been using CPAExcel and so far have passed FAR and AUD on my first attempt with scores in the 80s. I felt very well prepared for both tests. The short lessons worked well for me as I work full time and have two young children. I did supplement with the Wiley Test Bank but only used that during the last week or two of my studies each time. There was one professor in FAR that I didn't care for, but last week I read that his section has been completely redone by one of the more engaging professors. I feel it's a very good value.

    Good luck to you!

    FAR - Aug 2012 - 87
    AUD - Nov 2012 - 84
    REG - May 2013 - 90
    BEC - Oct 2013 - 87

I've also been looking into CPAExcel and appreciate the feedback being given so far. Those of you that have used CPAExcel, did you purchase the Video-Self Study (with Core Study Materials, Video Lectures/Slides, and Text/e-books) or did you do the Gold Medal with Professor mentoring?

I am planning on taking FAR first, and I'm thinking about purchasing CPAExcel FAR, Wiley FAR book, Wiley testbank and supplementing these with Ninja notes.

    Thoughts??

I purchased the Gold Course. The professor mentoring is very useful. Especially since there are some things in the books and videos that can get very confusing. The discussions can be helpful in clearing things up. I also supplement with the same things that you are thinking of doing and so far it's been a good fit. I just wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket with CPAexcel coming from experience. That's my opinion though. Everyone learns differently.

I use CPAexcel and I like it. I purchased the self-study video course. I don't really think the professor mentoring is necessary, but that's just my opinion. They've also made huge improvements on the REG videos, as also mentioned above. I've felt prepared with this software each time I've taken a test, but walked out disappointed with my own work ethic and preparation (knowing that if I had studied harder I probably would have passed). To second the opinions above, I am also a fan of the printed Wiley books. All of that coupled with the NINJA materials, you should be set to go!
