Should I even bother with the Wiley text?

I’m re-taking FAR in about 1.5 months and I was just wondering whether I can pass comfortably without going through the stuff in the Wiley book. I’m currently using Becker self-study and Wiley test bank. Today I opened the Wiley book and my eyes almost started bleeding. There is so much information that’s not presented in Becker it’s ridiculous

My question is… is Becker and Wiley Test Bank enough to pass the exam? Did anyone here actually read the entire Wiley book? Did it help? Thanks

Since you're retaking you probably already know that 95% of Wiley won't even be in the exam. Personally, I am re-taking the FAR exam in July. My strategy is to just do every single problem once, and then do all of the suggested problems from Yaeger which was my review course in my first attempt. FAR is just an absolute beast. My heart starts pounding just thinking about all the things that I “read” about but don't exactly remember. For example are unrealized AFS gains reported in OCI or income statement? Crap gotta go check again. Good luck

    BEC - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    REG - Pass
    AUD - Pass

Read Becker chapter twice and work all the MCQs/SIMs in passmaster couple times and you should be fine. However, supplementing with Wiley Testbank is a great great idea…that will def. help you a lot. I wouldn't bother with Wiley text.

Thanks guys. I used Becker and the test bank before and the MCQ's on the exam were very similar, although there was one SIM with material that was nowhere to be found in Becker. Unfortunately I didn't take the studying seriously enough and ended up having to go through the last 5 chapters in like 2 weeks, ultimately failing with a 65. I will try much harder this time

I haven't taken FAR yet, but I am reading the Wiley book. Its really not that much text if you think about all the pages that are full of MCQs and answers. The sections which are covered in detail in the Roger book I just sort of skim over, and focus on the rest.

The only part of the WIley text i read was for BEC and got an 85 so take it fwiw. The other sections i just used the Wiley book for their MCQ and went thru it with the videos for Yeager.

    FAR 80
    REG 76
    AUD 85
    BEC 85
    Ethics 98
    DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Stephen K. Hey I'm taking far late July too. I've taken and passed all of the other parts. I learned really quick after wasting too much time on AUD with the Wiley book that it is an overkill textbook. There is no effort whatsoever to consolidate or eliminate any information in any of their books. They give you EVERYTHING in the entire universe. That being said, I enjoy their multiple choice and may look at a few sims to reinforce concepts. FWIW I passed AUD & REG without practicing sims at all for REG (not a single one) and AUD with limited sim practice. I like MC questions better, because I feel if you nail them you have a better shot at passing the exam. I'm doing the same thing you are for FAR. I am reviewing becker lectures. I ordered a 2011 wiley FAR book just for MC but I almost fell over when it arrived and I saw it's pushing 980 pages. Seriously? This is a 90 question test! GL- and remember focus on the core concepts because if you have them mastered I think you will do well!
