I have the Wiley book for FAR and REG, and thats it. I’m considering getting the Wiley test bank because I want to practice in a real test environment, but am worried that the questions will overlap and that I may be wasting my money. Any suggestions?

Also, does it really help with the simulations and the research part of the exam? I feel like I am really lacking in preparation materials for the sims.

Get it. It's faster to study doing a mix of questions. And seeing answer right away rather than turning pages and looking on back of module.

So far I've taken FAR, AUD, and REG using the Wiley book and test bank. I worked all the problems in both for each exam. and found some overlap but not much. They were both helpful, but you can get thru the questions faster with the test bank plus it did give me more of a feel for how it felt to actually take the exam. I'd highly recommend it. My only warning is that you might want to consider the online data bank instead of the CD. Once you get it working it's great, but a lot of people have trouble with the installation. (You'll see plenty bad reviews on Amazon because of this.) Wiley tech support is good, but you can end up spending a lot of time trying to get it up and running.

The SIMS aren't as good as the MC, but I found them much more helpful in preparing for the exam than the book.

I am using Wiley book and Wiley test bank CD for FAR. Initially I thought that all questions in Wiley textbook are included in test bank but I was wrong (atleast for one chapter that I took up today). There were only a couple of questions that overlapped, infact the textbook had a variety of questions as compared to test bank. Now I am worried as did not refer to textbook questions for other chapters 🙁

I agree with the installation part, I had problem installing on windows (and not on Mac – surprising) but Wiley tech support was good and problem was resolved via email.
