Notes vs Wiley Focus Notes

I am currently studying AUD. I have been reading and taking notes at the same time, and working the questions after each module. However, it looks like I am almost rewriting every chapter, and taking too much time. I have never been a great note taker, and after 2 modules I have about 18 pages of single spaced notes.

So, should I continue the heavy notes that might not be the best quality, or rewrite the Focus Notes provided by Wiley? I would read each chapter, do all MCQ’s, and rewrite the Focus Notes.

Ha, I had exactly the same problem! Felt discouraged about how many notes I'd have to take for AUD, especially for the Evidence topic! So, I purchased the focus notes but I am not too happy with them….Definitely better to take your own notes!

Kitty – You passed AUD if I remember correctly. Did you have any previous audit experience? I guess my own notes it is, and I will just continue to review the Focus Notes.

Hi, I haven't passed AUD yet (I passed other 3 parts). Still studying for it. I have limited auditing experience with the state, so not financial audits….so I definitely need to read the Wiley textbook again and practice, practice, practice! Good luck!

I have some experience with audit. I have done ERISA, non-profit, yellow book, and small business. Good luck! I plan on taking AUD on October 17. That will give me a couple of days to cram after the 1040 deadline.
